We are incredibly proud of PGY-4 @drmahsatask for representing the University of Washington and @uwmedicine at the American College of Surgeons Leadership & Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C.! Mahsa is joining surgical leaders from across the country to engage with lawmakers and sharpen the skills needed to lead in an ever-evolving medical landscape. During her time at the capital, she is advocating for patients, surgeons, and health systems to improve the quality of care and the health of our communities. It’s about more than just what happens in the OR—it’s about ensuring our voices are heard where policy is made. Safe travels and keep up the great work, Mahsa! #UWMedicine #UWPlasticSurgery #ACSAdvocacy #SurgicalLeadership #AdvocacyInAction by @drmahsatask
your new PGY4s. Love this crew. by @drmahsatask
Honored to advocate on Capitol Hill this week for patient-centered policies — from strengthening the Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA) for women with breast cancer, to advancing the Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act (ELSA) for kids with congenital differences. Advocating for our patients and working to protect their access to timely, life-changing reconstructive care is one of the most meaningful parts of this work. Grateful to represent our field as an ASPS Future Leaders Scholar! Thank you @plasticsurgeryasps, @uwplasticsurgery, @uwgensurgres for your support! #ASPS #WHCRA #ELSA by @drmahsatask
A wise chief once told me “The work doesn’t get easier. You just get better.” 4+ years later, I’m realizing just how right they were. Stay tuned for year 5 with my crew @diepcuts by @drmahsatask
