Your doctor isn’t wrong.
They’re just answering the wrong question.
Most lab work is designed to ask:
“Are you sick enough to treat?”
High performers need different answers:
 • Where is energy leaking before breakdown?
 • Which systems are compensating — and at what cost?
 • Why does recovery take longer, even with good habits?
I’ve seen this for over two decades in clinical practice:
People burn out inside the lab ranges long before anything flags as abnormal.
This Saturday at 2:00 PM MST, I’m teaching how to:
 • Interpret labs for energy and resilience
 • Identify hidden performance drains
 • Turn blood work into a strategic tool

If your doctor says, “Everything looks fine,”
but you’re still tired, foggy, or slow to recover — this is worth understanding.
Most lab ranges are statistical averages, not performance targets.
High performers often burn out inside the lab ranges long before anything flags as abnormal.
In over two decades of clinical practice, I’ve seen:
Subclinical deficiencies drain energy quietly

Compensation patterns mask problems until burnout hits

Professionals push harder instead of reading the data differently

This Saturday’s webinar will break down:
Disease labs vs. performance labs

Markers that actually correlate with energy and recovery

How to use blood work as a strategic input — not a checkbox

Your blood work can be “normal”
…and still explain why you’re exhausted.

If you’re a high-performing professional or business owner and your labs come back “within range,” but your energy, focus, and recovery are declining — you’re not broken.

Standard blood work is designed to detect disease.
It is not designed to optimize performance.

That’s why so many driven people are told everything looks fine… while they’re running on caffeine, stress, and grit.

This Saturday at 2:00 PM MST, I’m hosting a free live webinar where I’ll show you:
• What standard labs miss for high performers
• How energy leaks show up before disease
• How to read blood work through a performance lens

If more energy would change how you show up in business, family, and leadership — this is for you.

Gratitude Post #20

Today I’m grateful for a little place of heaven on earth called Lāʻie, Hawaiʻi.

It was there that everything in my life truly began.

Lāʻie is where I attended BYU–Hawaii and discovered that I could be an excellent student—that striving, learning, and pushing my limits felt right. It’s where I met kind people who expanded my world, where the mountains and ocean taught me what it means to feel alive, and where nature became a daily invitation to be present.

Most of all, Hawaiʻi is where I met my wife, found my vocation, and stepped into my purpose.

That small town shaped the man I became and continues to shape the man I’m becoming.
For all of it—I’m deeply grateful. by @drmattormond

Gratitude Post #14: The Beauty and Resilience of Our Planet

Today, my heart overflows with gratitude for the incredible, resilient, and breathtaking planet we call home. It’s been my privilege to hike the majestic White Clouds and Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho, to explore the grandeur of Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley in Peru, and to live in Hawaii, hiking the stunning Napali Coast and swimming in its beautiful ocean. Each of these experiences highlights the deep connection between nature and humanity, reminding us of our duty to honor and preserve our planet.

In these times, as solar storms challenge the Earth’s magnetic field, we’re gifted with the awe-inspiring aurora borealis in places it’s never been seen before. This brilliance and beauty in the face of challenge exemplifies the resilience of our Earth, and for that, I am profoundly thankful. by @drmattormond

Gratitude Post #12: A Journey of Transformation in Peru

As I reflect on my two-year mission in Peru, my heart overflows with gratitude. From the vibrant streets of Lima to the historic beauty of Cusco, the warmth of Quiabamba, and the serenity of Ondoailes, I met incredible people who, despite having little, radiated joy and happiness every single day.

It was a privilege to immerse myself in the rich language and culture of Peru, to walk among ancient Incan ruins and stand in awe at Machu Picchu. The flavors of Peruvian cuisine became a cherished part of my daily life, each meal a reminder of the kindness and generosity of those I served.

Preaching the gospel in this beautiful land was more than just a mission—it was a journey of transformation. The lives I touched were not the only ones changed; I, too, was transformed. The experiences, the friendships, and the moments of reflection have shaped me in profound ways.

Forever grateful for the privilege of serving and for the beautiful souls I met along the way. by @drmattormond

Gratitude Post — Day 5
Today, I’m filled with gratitude for my children.

Fisher and Tyler arrived while we were in the Midwest attending chiropractic school. They brought laughter, joy, and a sense of balance during one of the most demanding chapters of our lives. Then came Alexander — our first born on the West Coast — bright-eyed, full of energy, and absolutely enamored with his older brothers. Life was a treat with him around.

Kian arrived a few years later. By number four, I had learned a thing or two. I knew how fleeting those early years would be, so I savored them all — rocking him to sleep, rolling balls his way, just soaking in what it meant to be his dad.

Then came Joe — our first home birth. His arrival was calm, peaceful, and powerful. Eyes wide open, fully present from the start. Every one of our birthing experiences was sacred, but Joe’s felt especially profound — almost like the air itself was holding its breath in reverence.

And then came June. After years of raising dragons, we’d accepted our fate as an all-boy family… until she arrived. During my wife’s pregnancy, I often said she was God’s gift to my wife for fearlessly raising dragons. But before her birth, I felt her spirit whisper that she was coming for me. She is everything I could have hoped for — and more.

Fisher is now nearing the end of a two-year mission in Brazil. Tyler is just beginning his own in Madagascar. Alex is a junior in high school — an elite volleyball player, a stellar student, and an even better human. Kian’s quick, smart, and kind — if there’s a ball, he’ll find it and make it look easy. Joe is wise beyond his years, a loyal friend and brother. And June — our songbird — sings, performs, and fills our home with laughter.

I am blessed beyond measure to be their dad. Each one is a living reminder that God’s greatest gifts often call you “Dad. by @drmattormond

Gratitude Post #3 – My Parents, Errol and Jackie Ormond

Today, I’m grateful for my earthly parents, Errol and Jackie Ormond — two remarkable souls who taught me, cared for me, nurtured me, and lifted me higher than I could have climbed on my own.

My father modeled hard work, quality craftsmanship, and joy in service. He taught me that laughter belongs everywhere — even in the trenches.

My mother has one of the sharpest minds and brightest spirits I’ve ever known. Together, we honed our humor over the years, trading wit and wisdom in equal measure. She challenged me to think deeply, to study diligently, and to pursue excellence in all things.

If it weren’t for my mom, I never would have gone to BYU–Hawaii — and never would have met my wife. And if it weren’t for her high intellect, I might never have been able to keep up with my wife’s brilliance.

My parents have been steadfast champions of me, my family, and each of my siblings and their families. Today, they stand at the head of a growing legacy — six children, twenty grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Mom and Dad, thank you for your love, your faith, your humor, and your example. I am who I am, in large part, because of you. by @drmattormond
