Did You Know? For Every 100 Men Promoted to Manager, Only 93 Women Are

The 2025 Women in the Workplace report from @mckinseyco and @leaninorg found that the "broken rung" held women back for an 11th straight year. Just 93 women were promoted to manager for every 100 men, and only 60 Black women. Entry-level women are also less likely to have a sponsor (31% versus 45% of men).

Fewer women managers means fewer women leaders at every level above. Sponsorship is one gap allies can start closing today.
