I missed Spelhouse Homecoming but LU came through this weekend! Baby girl enjoyed the stepshow and today we exposed our Jack and Jill youth to HBCU Life!

After walking in the parade, my group followed the bands. They got to watch Douglass and Booker T battle and watch their own peers from Young Achievers play. Members of KKPsi and TBSigma spoke to them and answered questions.

President Ruth Ray Jackson blessed us with her presence and taught them how to properly throw up those Ls.

Next they got to meet the drum majors before they led the band on a "paw"walk through campus.

The AZ chapter of AKA fed them a delicious free meal and they got to watch the game and halftime show! Their Delta and Zeta Aunties gave them much love as well!

For the past few days I've had the opportunity to fellowship and learn from my fellow chapter Presidents and REB members from the Central Region.

I truly feel like I'm on top of the world and grateful for new friends and our shared experiences.

September is Sickle Cell and Childhood Cancer Awareness month! St. Jude is leading the way in research and I'm excited to support these efforts. As a pediatrician, I've seen how increased research has prolonged lives, decreased hospitalizations and decreased morbidity.

Have you ever eaten Lion's mane. I've honestly only used it as an elixir to help with focus but saw this beauty at the farmer's market sold by @fungusfamilyfarms

It was delicious! Next time I'll get 16 ounces to make 10!

Days 2 and 3 of the 47th Jack and Jill National Convention were filled with work and play!

We officially started with delegate/alternate duties. That night we went back to the 90s with DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Day 3 began with our Associates breakfast where we got to honor our own mother member @selling_with_serena_ and MANY more!

We went back to business then got to meet our nationally endorsed candidates. I got to assist with our new national editors campaign.

That night we celebrated family night in style. Seeing my Spelman family in one space was the highlight for me!

We also explored each regions history displays which were amazing! I wish I had more time.

I had the distinct privilege of serving as the delegate for the Outstanding Oklahoma City Chapter and Chair of the Our Health Matters Task Force at the 47th National Convention for Jack and Jill of America!

As soon as we landed we hit the ground running! It was a family reunion and an opportunity to engage with so many amazing individuals!

Fatherhood in action:

Road trips
Playing catch in the backyard
Assistant coaching wherever needed
Teaching your son's valuable life skills
Spontaneous tickets to take your daughter to see a Broadway.
Honoring the mother of your children

Caring for your parents in their old age.
Bringing family together
Reminding your adult children about their legacy.

I'm grateful to be surrounded by amazing men like my my Father, Husband, Grandfather, Uncles, cousins, brother-in-law, and community fathers who have poured into so many!

Today and everyday we honor you! We see you, we support you and we pray you continue the great work!

Sufyan's 5th Grade Graduation!

High School track season has come to an end. My sonshine set a goal and was victorious! Still work to do but knowing you are one of the top 5 Freshman 400m runners in the state is exciting @cant_catch_ayah ! by @drnoonoo

Happy Mother's Day! Today I honor my mother who has been my teacher, supporter and even transporter when I need her. It's a blessing to raise my children around her!

I honor my big sister @aquilahahmad who honestly is my children's second mother. I love that they call her for advice and she often steps in when I can't. Thank you!

Being a mother requires a lot of sacrifice but it's worth it! My children have made me a better person and physician. They keep me on my toes and have no problem letting me know where I can improve! 😄 I'm grateful for my 3 blessings even though they take all my money!

Today we reflect and remember the mothers past and present. May we never forget to also honor them the other 364 days. 😉 by @drnoonoo
