Drops Cycling 2016-2024.

A world class professional development programme that raced globally between 2016-2024.

Our project proudly nurtured 64 riders from 20 nations and raced in 24 countries through 9 years.

Producing multiple National Champions, animating the Classics, lighting up the Tour de France and forming World Champions and Olympians.

Previous title partners include Drops, Trek-Drops, Drops-Le Col s/b Tempur, Le Col-Wahoo and Lifeplus-Wahoo.

Unable to raise backing to become a ‘UCI Pro Team’ with minimum salaries and full time staff for 2025, our project sadly ceased in 2024.

However, twelve of our alumni will compete on the World Tour in 2025: Elinor Barker, Kristyna Burlova, Lizzie Holden, Maria Martins, Flora Perkins, Kaja Rysz, Alice Towers, Eva van Agt, Maike van der Duin, Gladys Verhulst, Margaux Vigie and Ella Wyllie.

All good things must come to an end.

We are very sad to announce that Drops Cycling – currently racing as Lifeplus Wahoo - Britain’s most successful and longest running UCI women’s team, will close.

Despite securing a full stable of premium product partners for 2025, we have been unable to sell the naming rights for a figure commensurate with the budget required for a UCI Pro Team Licence application.

Our aim has always been to progress to Pro Team level and ultimately become a World Tour team. With uncertainty surrounding the viability of the project at Continental level, we no longer have the appetite to struggle to deliver our professional vision on a minimum budget at this largely unregulated level.

With the ever-rising cost of racing, loss of sponsor bonus income without TDFF participation, the recent bike thefts and an ongoing non-title partnership dispute due to unpaid instalments we have sadly raced our last race.

It’s been a true rollercoaster ride since our humble beginnings in 2016 and it’s been a pleasure to #ColourTheRoad with you.

Thanks especially go out to both Lifeplus and Wahoo and MAAP in particular, who’s support over the recent past has been so invaluable. by @dropscycling

Consistency! 🔥

Kristyna Burlova took 5th place in this morning's disrupted Stage 3a @baloiseladiestour , which ended in a sprint.

6th, 7th, 5th on road stages so far this Tour!

The stage was neutralised following a crash at the start of the race. After a delay of about 50 mins, the race was restarted but shortened by 28km.

Of course, we wish everyone involved in the crash is okay!

Another top ten for Babette van der Wolf @BaloiseLT today, surfing the wheels well in the sprint final.

Heidi was active in breaks of the day before the race came back together.

Double race day tomorrow with a road stage and ITT⚡️

You can take the girl out the track, but not the track out the girl…

Superb work from the team to guide Babette into the final and deliver her on the perfect wheel. ‘Babs’ did the rest, surfing the wheels and fighting until the line.

A solid 6th place on the first road stage of @baloiseladiestour

A short 3km prologue kicked off @baloiseladiestour whilst the sun shone down on Hulst, Netherlands.

@burlova.k was our fastest across the line in 36th place with minimal time gaps. First road stage up tomorrow as we look for opportunities!
