Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon & Robotic Dental Implant Full Arch Surgeon (All on X) using YOMI @neocisinc

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

During my interview for oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the @uofoklahoma Health Sciences Center, Dr. Steve Sullivan threw my application on the floor and told me, in very direct terms, what he was actually looking for in a resident.

I certainly remembered the moment. But what I understand much better now is the lesson behind it.

Dr. Sullivan wasn't looking for the perfect résumé. He was looking for people he could trust—people willing to work, learn, be accountable, and become surgeons.

Years later, I appreciate even more what he gave me: an opportunity, extraordinarily demanding training, and an example of what it means to invest in the next generation.

Dr. Sullivan, if you happen to see this: thank you. I remain profoundly grateful that you took a chance on me. #thankyou by @drrobbryan

As the Founder of The American Academy of Robotic and Digital Dentistry, @theaardd , it is an extraordinary honor to serve as the first President.

At our inaugural meeting, Dr. Mike Fling presented me with the cobalt-blue president’s jacket—a moment I will never forget. This tradition will be carried forward each year for the incoming President.

The color was chosen with purpose. Cobalt blue is bold, energetic, and unmistakably forward-looking. To me, it represents clarity of vision, the courage to challenge convention, and our confidence in the bright future of robotic and digital dentistry.

This jacket is not simply a symbol of an office or title. It represents a responsibility—to lead with integrity, to remain curious, and to help advance these technologies thoughtfully for the benefit of our profession and our patients. More than anything, it is not a recognition of work completed; it is a commitment to the work still ahead.

I am deeply grateful to our Board of Directors—Dr. Mike Fling, Dr. Drew Johnson, Dr. Tim Hess, and Dr. Tal Watkins—for believing in this vision and helping transform it into a professional community.

I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to our outstanding speakers: Professor Alessandro Pozzi from Rome, Italy; Dr. Jay Neugarten and Dr. Anthony Sallustio from New York; and Dr. Drew Johnson from Arkansas. Their expertise, generosity, and willingness to share their knowledge made our inaugural meeting truly exceptional.

Finally, I want to recognize our Program Director, Jenny Nguyen. Her creativity, commitment, and tireless work were essential in bringing this inaugural meeting—and AARDD itself—to life.

I am humbled by the trust placed in me and energized by what we are building together.

The future of dentistry will not simply arrive. Together, we will help define it.

A moment we will never forget.

The inaugural meeting of the American Academy of Robotic and Digital Dentistry brought together extraordinary clinicians, educators, innovators, and friends who share one conviction:

The future of dentistry is not something we should simply wait for. It is something we should help shape.

A special thank you to our exceptional speakers—Professor Alessandro Pozzi, Dr. Jay Neugarten, Dr. Anthony Sallustio, and Dr. Drew Johnson—for sharing their knowledge, challenging our thinking, and showing us what is possible right now in robotic and digital dentistry.

Thank you to everyone who believed in this vision and helped transform AARDD from an idea into a professional community.

This is only the beginning.

Digital dentistry accelerated.

😮 "I Can't Believe What I'm Looking at Right Now." A Real MMA Surgery Result the Next Morning. 😮

Dr. Rob Bryan shares a genuinely striking result from a case just two weeks prior. He treats sleep apnea primarily through maxillomandibular advancement (MMA) surgery, and when he checked on his patient the following morning, the difference was immediate. Head elevated 30 degrees, lying flat on his back, no CPAP machine, breathing quietly, no snoring at all.

His patient's wife summed it up perfectly: "I can't believe what I'm looking at right now." That kind of dramatic, visible change is exactly what makes MMA such a compelling option for patients who've struggled with CPAP compliance.

💡 Key Takeaways:
🔹 Maxillomandibular advancement (MMA) surgery is one of the most effective surgical treatments for obstructive sleep apnea.
🔹 Real-world results can be dramatic and immediately noticeable, even the morning after surgery.
🔹 For patients who struggle with CPAP compliance, MMA can offer a genuinely life-changing alternative.

Do you treat sleep apnea in your practice? Which approach do you use? Drop a 👇.

FACES OF THE FUTURE

Experience tells us where we’ve been. Curiosity determines where we go next.

Today, the American Academy of Robotic and Digital Dentistry is proud to recognize AARDD member Dr. Jason Yanich, of Marion, Ohio, as one of our Faces of the Future.

A board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Yanich has built his career around a commitment to clinical excellence, advanced surgical care, and continual learning.

His academic accomplishments began at The Ohio State University, where he received honors for academic achievement and excellence in oral medicine. Today, his clinical practice encompasses dental implant surgery, bone grafting, tissue regeneration, complex oral surgery, and advanced three-dimensional imaging.

But credentials alone aren't what make someone a Face of the Future.

Mindset does.

At Yanich Oral Surgery, advanced technology and continuous training aren't treated as destinations. They're part of an ongoing commitment to improve how patients are diagnosed, treated, and cared for.

That philosophy speaks directly to what we are building at AARDD.

Because the future of dentistry will not belong simply to the clinicians with the newest technology.

It will belong to the clinicians who never stop asking how technology can make them better.

Better diagnostics.
Better planning.
Greater precision.
Better execution.
Better patient experiences.

The tools will continue to evolve.

So must we.

AARDD is bringing together surgeons, restorative dentists, periodontists, educators, and innovators from across the country who share that belief—and who intend to participate in defining what comes next.

Dr. Yanich is one of those clinicians.

We are proud to have him as a member of the American Academy of Robotic and Digital Dentistry and proud to recognize him as one of our Faces of the Future.

Congratulations, Dr. Yanich.

Digital Dentistry. Accelerated.

If everyone around you is afraid to tell you you’re wrong, you don’t have a leadership team. You have a fan club.

Strong leaders don’t surround themselves with agreement. They build teams that are willing to challenge assumptions, identify blind spots, and say the uncomfortable thing when it needs to be said.

The goal isn’t consensus. It’s clarity.
