💚 GREEN FLAGS - DENTIST EDITION 💚

1. Takes time to get to know you not just your teeth
2. Actually listens to what you want, not just what they think you need
3. Is able to communicate clearly, so you’re leaving the appointment with clarity about your treatment plan
4. Gives you all options even if some they need to refer and cannot do themselves

6. Shows empathy and doesn’t judge you
7. Goes the extra mile to make you feel cared for by putting your needs above theirs
8. Explains your diagnosis in easy to understand language without assuming you’re also a dentist

Dr Sarina, Chelsea Dental Clinic, collects her anxious patients from the waiting room herself, never the nurse.

The walk matters. She asks about their day, what they have planned, anything but teeth. Classical music plays in the surgery, no lyrics, and she sits beside them before any treatment begins.

One patient arrived carrying trauma from his time in the military, having only ever come in for emergencies. He wanted the minimum and nothing more. She matched it exactly, removed the tooth as quickly as was safe, said only what was needed, then built every later visit in small steps. He kept coming back.

"Patients are coming to you for you. They will remember how you made them feel, not necessarily what you physically did."

Skill gets the tooth out. Presence is what brings the patient back.
