The appointment we’ve both been looking forward to.

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of watching how seamlessly they sit over the teeth. Seeing each one settle into place, and the whole smile come together, is such a satisfying part of what I do.

But the best bit? Handing over the mirror and seeing their face when they see their smile for the first time.

Four teeth. A subtle change that brings the whole smile together.

For this case, I used four veneers to mask tetracycline staining and create a more even shade across the front teeth.

The detail is in the balance. Soft shapes, natural surface texture and a shade that sits comfortably alongside the rest of the smile.

You’ve probably seen veneers without realising they were veneers. That’s the idea.

ContactlensV™ are designed with the details of natural teeth in mind. Subtle texture, translucency at the edges and individual shapes that suit your smile.

The colour matters, but so do the proportions and the way the porcelain catches the light. Those small details make a real difference when you see a smile up close.

When masking staining, the detail in the porcelain matters just as much as the colour.

For this case, we used 10 emax veneers to mask tetracycline staining and create a more even shade across the smile.

The balance is in providing enough coverage while keeping the depth and translucency that make teeth look natural. You can see the subtle surface texture, softer edges and variation within each veneer in the close up.

A brighter, more balanced smile, with the individual detail still there.

Before treatment, there was variation in the colour and shape of the upper teeth, with uneven edges and some teeth sitting further forward than others.

Natural veneers in shade A1 brought more consistency to the smile, while keeping each tooth individually shaped. Soft contours, subtle surface texture and translucency at the edges help the veneers blend seamlessly into the smile.

It’s these details that make the result feel natural. A more even smile, with character still in the teeth.

Are all “Turkey teeth” bad? No. But wherever you choose to have treatment, doing your research is essential.

This isn’t something you should rush into. Choose a reputable clinician, ask the right questions and make sure there’s a proper treatment plan in place before any work begins. That’s where good dentistry starts.

I’ve been doing a lot of porcelain veneers lately, particularly Contact Lens Veneers™, but I still get plenty of requests for composite bonding.

The before shown here is post orthodontic treatment and whitening. However, this patient was still unhappy with the embrasures between his teeth. He wanted more symmetry and uniformity, and for his smile to appear wider.

We achieved this with composite bonding across eight teeth.

Here’s something most people don’t realise…

Adults with severe gum disease were found to be twice as likely to have high blood pressure compared with those who had healthy gums.

That doesn’t mean gum disease directly causes heart problems, but the connection between oral health, inflammation and our wider health is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.

Your mouth isn’t separate from the rest of your body. So bleeding gums, persistent inflammation or changes that don’t feel right shouldn’t simply be brushed off.

A dental check up is about far more than finding cavities. Sometimes your mouth is telling us something before the rest of your body does.
