I am deeply grateful and truly honored to have been elected President of the American Black Chiropractic Association (ABCA).

I do not take this responsibility lightly. It is both a privilege and an honor to serve an organization with such an important legacy, purpose, and vision for the future of chiropractic.

As President, I look forward to helping the ABCA do more, be more, and reach more —creating greater opportunities for our members, strengthening our organization, expanding our impact, and continuing to build a strong foundation for the future.

Most importantly, I am excited to serve our members and our future members. I look forward to listening, collaborating, leading, and working together to move the ABCA forward.

There is so much work to be done, so much potential to unlock, and an incredible future ahead of us.

I am honored to serve. I am ready to work. And I cannot wait to see what we accomplish together.

The future of the ABCA is bright—and I am excited to be a part of it.

Saturday, I had to say goodbye to Makayla. 🤍

And I don’t even know if I have the words to fully explain what losing her feels like.

I got Makayla when she was just six weeks old, a few months before I graduated from chiropractic school. She has been with me through so many pivotal moments and major transitions in my life.

She watched me graduate.
She watched me grow.
She was there through changes, accomplishments, hard seasons, heartbreak, and everything in between.

She listened to me when I needed to talk. She was my little friend. When I was sad, somehow she knew. She would make me smile, comfort me, or simply sit there beside me.

And now, I just miss her.

I miss her presence.
I miss looking over and seeing her there.
I miss knowing that no matter what kind of day I had, Makayla was there.

People who have never loved an animal this deeply may see “just a dog.”

But when you have had someone beside you for more than 15 years, they are not “just” anything.

She was family.

She became part of my life, part of my routines, part of my memories, and honestly, part of who I am.

I knew this day would eventually come, but knowing that does not make it hurt any less.

Right now, I’m still trying to process the fact that she’s gone. I keep thinking about all of the years we had together, and I’m so grateful for every single one of them.

But I miss my girl so much.

Thank you, Makayla, for growing with me, loving me, comforting me, and being by my side through so much of my life.

I will miss you more than I can put into words.

My sweet girl. Forever a part of me. 🐾🤍 by @drshereffaclarke

A full-circle moment for the books! ✨

Last month, I had the opportunity to speak at the Student Leadership Conference hosted by the ACA and ABCA, and this one hit a little different.

Watching students I’ve had the privilege of mentoring take the lead in planning a national conference was EVERYTHING! 👏🏽

And of course, my topic was Collaboration Over Competition because if you know me, you know I’m BIG on building community, creating opportunities, and making sure we all have a seat at the table.

Grateful for the opportunity to pour into the next generation of chiropractors and excited to continue working with both organizations.

Keep growing, keep showing up, and don’t forget to bring people with you. 💗

🎙️ I’m excited to share my recent appearance on NCMIC’s Chiropractical podcast!

In “The 2% Reality: How We Close Chiropractic’s Widest Gap,” I sat down with host Jon Kec to discuss why Black chiropractors currently represent only about 2% of the profession and what we can do to help change that reality.

We talked about representation in healthcare, mentorship, access to chiropractic care, health equity, and the work being done through the American Black Chiropractic Association to support students and future doctors.

I also shared the personal experience that led me to become a chiropractor and why this mission means so much to me.

Thank you to NCMIC and Jon Kec for the opportunity to have this important conversation.

🎧 Watch the full episode through the link in my bio, and let me know what part resonates most with you.

Professional Achievement Award!!! 🎉🏆✨

Thank you to @abcachiro and the American Black Chiropractic Association for this incredible honor.

I received a text from a colleague congratulating me, and honestly… I didn’t believe it at first! I wasn’t even in the room, yet my name was being called.

Moments like this remind me that your work will speak for you when you’re not there to speak for yourself.

I am truly grateful for the people who advocate for me, celebrate me, and mention my name in rooms I’m not in. Never underestimate the power of consistency, excellence, integrity, and serving others with your whole heart.

This award isn’t just for me it’s for every patient who has trusted me with their care, every mentor who poured into me, every team member who serves alongside me, and every person who has supported this journey.

Thank you for seeing the work. The mission continues. Here’s to making an impact, lifting others as we climb, and continuing to serve with excellence.

To God be all the glory.
