It’s surprising easy to “feel” a song when I’m performing it. What’s not easy, and what is a life-long journey, is convincing an audience to “feel” something along with me.

Y’all hear this yet?

I’ve been obsessed with this track ever since I heard it probably 20 years ago. 👌 There’s something about it that seems unfixable, unknowable, and truly haunting.

When I sit down to write…

I don’t spend too much time worrying about what sounds any good. That’s all too heady for the drafting stage. The playful stage. All I’m worrying about is what FEELS good. That’s all that matters.
