“Sometimes I write from just a title, sometimes it’s a riff or a few chords, and sometimes it’s a feeling. In this case, I knew what emotion I wanted to capture and that was the seed that was planted.”

For many creative people, writing isn't just something we do when we have free time, or between work emails, or after two beers.

It's in our blood to create. We simply can't help it.

If I go days without writing, I'll notice I get irritable and anxious. The creative muscle is truly one that has to be exercised often. With that in mind, here's a new piece I'm working on called "Daisy Times Eleven."

Wayne Coyne has kinda been one of my heros since I was a teenager.

Here's a clip of me performing "Oh My Pregnant Head" live at @littlefieldnyc in Brooklyn. What do you think?

Check my stories for a playlist of some of my fav @waynecoyne5 @iloveflaminglips songs.

During the 88 days of lockdown in NYC, I forced myself to visit the studio each day. This new song mashes up feelings from that strange time. Nothing really made sense.

This video is the third collaboration with @FoxyCreatures in my hometown of Tampa, FL.

FAMILIAR //

For this week's Story of the Song, people asked me to discuss "Familiar." In a lot of ways, this song is about embracing your past, and welcoming nostalgia as a bitter-sweet muse.

Check out the whole song on Spotify at the link in my bio.

HOMETOWN //

How often do you visit your hometown?

There's comfort in revisiting the places you come from. It's almost like you've graduated.

But there's also a sad note, because you can't get back that old brick coffee shop. You're saying goodbye to little fragments of yourself that you left behind.

My song "Hometown" is about that feeling. Listen on Spotify now --> link in bio.

MOST OF NOW //

Before the pandemic, it was easy it was to take regular things for granted like watching a band play music down the street.

This song is a friendly reminder that "now" is kinda the only thing that matters. The small moments. The simple interactions.

ON YOUR REPAIR //

This week’s #StoryOfTheSong is off my 2016 record "Familiar." I don't always write songs about specific people, but this one certainly is.

Have you every waited around for someone to change?
Or waited for them to make up their mind, or grow up, or move out, or move on?

It's exhausting, and eventually you run out of gas.

Swipe left to view lyrics and learn more about the story. Link in bio to listen to “On Your Repair” on your favorite platforms.
