Before her passing, over fifteen years ago, grandma saw that I had taken to knitting. So, she gifted me all of her long cherished knitting patterns. Upon receiving these, I discovered that the publication dates of the baby patterns matched up perfectly with the births of my aunts and cousins.

I’ve already finished one outfit so far, from a modern pattern, but I hope to knit at least a few more. Beau came early, and so everything that I knit for him came after his arrival!

Who's ready for a cozy murder mystery weekend with @row_house ?

From Feb 26 - 28th, we will knit and solve a mystery together in scenic Gettysburg, PA. As some of y'all may know, I love a good mystery, so I'm especially looking forward to finally participating in one! Of course, in the midst of our sleuthing, there will be knitting, camaraderie, and good eats!

Apparently, when you downsize from a knitting room to a knitting corner, you lose space for your 100s of WIPs 😂

Who would have thought?

Hoping to finish hand-sewing this leather bag this weekend so that I can finish the TWO QUILTS that are happily taking up space in my craft cabinet. Slowly working towards a complete handmade wardrobe 🪡🧵🧶

My midwife, Khaleesi the cat, who has refused to leave my side since I started getting all big and wobbly, is "helping".

Cyber is easy to knit, but it was hard to design. It wasn't the math, or the knitting, or the actual pattern writing. What made Cyber difficult was that it was designed over 1 miscarriage, 3 months of medical menopause and 1 (almost complete!) pregnancy. Even now as I write this, I am having Braxton Hicks contractions 😩. So many phases of "womanhood" were experienced throughout the creation of Cyber. Oh and I published Knitting Cowlettes right in the middle of it all.

Fun fact, menopause was kicking my 🍑 during this photoshoot.

The ⚡Cyber⚡ Cardi is finally here!

My favorite color is black, but lately, I really want to experiment with color and texture and fiber.

On the surface, Cyber is a very simple design. But really, it was created with curves in mind. I cannot wear traditional drop shoulder sweaters. They are just too bulky around my waist, yet snug around the chest and hip. I hate the feeling. Cyber uses minimal positive ease and relies on the wearer's upper bust. And instead of a boxy body, there are contouring ribbed panels at each "side seam". Despite these changes, Cyber is a delightfully easy and quick knit. And, it's a great way to experiment with textured yarn.

Yes, we will be knitting socks, my Knit 2 Socks in 1 way, AND I'll be debuting a new sock pattern (my first in years!, because after writing a whole dang book, I exclusively designed socks for family 😂🫣)
