Seldom has a bike I built received such positive reactions as this one. Mostly because it seems to spread a good vibe, awaken curiosity to ride it, and speak to the inner child in some people. To me, this build is a reminder that a bicycle, besides being many other things, can also be a toy, and that cycling is a simple form of play suitable for everyone.

@brenwell picked up his bike a few weeks ago and took it to his new home in Freiburg. After a long, often difficult, and sometimes even frustrating process of building the frameset, I am very happy that he can finally enjoy riding it.

When @johnprolly visited me in my workshop for @theradavist , he took all the amazing pictures shared in this post. Thanks for your hard work and for the enjoyable company.

The @bespoked.cc weekend in Manchester was a blast once again. Over time, it has changed from being a socially stressful event to attend a trade show as a exhibitor into an occasion to meet people I know, whose work I deeply respect and it even feels like we genuinely like each other. I really value the exchange with all of you. fellow builders and visitors alike.

Thanks to @johnprolly / @theradavist for the amazing pictures of my show bike. It was great to meet you in person.

And the biggest thank you again to all the companies that supported me in building this bike that won the „best in show award“ in the end. I couldn’t have done it without you.

Time to give Michael’s second Drust its well-deserved place in this gallery.

Even though the colour scheme didn’t end up being exactly as we’d imagined, I’m really excited about how this bike turned out visually. In my experience, life is much easier when you don’t have too many expectations for the paint job and leave a little room for surprise along the way.

The rear triangle can be detached from the main frame or swung upwards and bolted onto a socket on the down tube, allowing the bike to pack down fairly small for travelling.

The front rack gives the @outer.shell bag a warm, loving hug and keeps it safe in its spot. I still hope we’ll see at least three angry, reactive Chihuahuas riding in it one day.

Thanks to @whiteind for supporting this build. It’s just as great to see your components on this bike as it was to see you at Bespoked in Dresden!

Big thanks to Jorrit from @munrowheels for the awesome wheel job! Love how those silver @velocityusa rims blend in with the bike.

I’m a bit late with this post, but I want to say a big thank you to everyone who supported me and made it possible to bring a show bike to @bespoked.cc Dresden once again.

this was the last time riding with the whole shenanigans, and we’re saying goodbye to the kayak and the trailer. we cycled about 255km (1,400m elevation gain) with this setup, and most of the time it was type 0 fun (that’s the type of fun when doing stuff isn’t that much fun, but the initial idea is utterly hilarious. y’know, like cycling 2,500km with a 20“ mini cargo bike, which we did last year). however, I like the idea of losing about 25kg of weight, so we can focus on the cycling experience 💕 by @drustcycles

I had the absolute pleasure of handing over this touring cargo bike to Nils and Arti yesterday.
Wishing you both countless amazing adventures on your new bike. I truly enjoyed building it and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

Bikes are toys for people of all ages and this one embodies that to the fullest.

One day, I need to meet this bike again for a proper photoshoot.

I know I haven’t been putting much effort into Instagram lately. Luckily, I’ve been busy with other things and can enjoy the privilege of not having to worry about doing a good job here atm.

That said, I think it’s a shame to have a bunch of great photos sitting on my hard drive without sharing them, especially when they were taken by people who put so much effort and hard work into creating them.

I built this little 24”/20” cargo bike for a dear friend in early 2025. It was designed to be an everyday ride, and I really like its down to earth build using reliable mid range components.

Also worth mentioning is the stunning powder coat finish delivered by @dresdner_pulverguy
