Up for sale is the frame that was displayed at the @seido_components booth during this year’s @bespoked show in Manchester.

When I was asked if I had a frame to lend for the show, I looked into my box of “measure once, cut it too short” tubes and decided to quickly build one that matched the requirements of the components Seido wanted to showcase. The frame was designed around the new Seido MTB fork and a new drop bar. According to a recent article on @bikepacking, it turned out to be a drop bar MTB-29er (https://bikepacking.com/index/drop-bar-mountain-bikes-29er/).

The tubes are a mix of everything I regularly use to build my frames: a Reynolds 853 downtube and 631 seat tube, a Columbus Zona downtube as a top tube, and Deda chainstays, seatstays, and headtube. The geometry was planned around a 500mm a-c (120mm a-c corrected) fork, but it also works flawlessly with the 130mm-corrected fork shown in the picture. @dresdner_pulverei gifted some rust imitation powder to the frame and did a great job as usual with the powder coating. My friends at @gramm_tourpacking manufactured the three small bags on the frame locally here in Berlin.

Some general information:

Size L - high stack/longer reach to be used with a short stem. Potentially could be ridden by XL people with a slightly longer stem.

• Fillet brazed and powder-coated
• 148x12 rear spacing
• 29x2.2 - 29x2.6 tires
• Suspension fork corrected geometry (120mm-130mm)

Made by @gramm_tourpacking in Berlin from RX36 black (100% recycled, 100% made in the USA).

Price frame + bags: €2300

When the bike is sold, I will donate 1/3 to @missionlifeline, providing proof of the donation to the buyer. In times when I see people’s views and opinions go in mysterious ways, I hope everyone can still agree that nobody should be drowning in the sea. Any amount you add to the price I will add to the donation.

The frame can also be bought as a frameset with a carbon, suspension, or steel fork, as well as a fully built bike.

Where is the transition from a „bit too long rear end“ to midtail to longtail? This cargo ATB was requested by @sorebikes for one of their mechanics quite early on in the Drust Cycles journey. Planning and building this bike has been quite a challenge since I had never made something similar before, and my collection of tools and fixturing possibilities was much smaller. Luckily, it grew over the time I was working on it, and there is not just one thing in my workshop now that I specifically got to get ahead with this build.

Everything on this project took quite some time. The finalization of the order, the building of the frameset, finding a date to hand it over. Since we met at the Bespoked show in Dresden last year, and I delivered it to Daniel he stuck to the „good things take time“ principle and didn’t rush with building it up. I am stoked to finally see the frameset turned into a bicycle, and I’m so happy to hear that @herr_stosse loves the way it looks, handles, and is excited to ride the bike and take his kid on tours into nature. You can spot the bike around @sorebikes and the streets of Cologne.

Let’s start the new week with something hot.
Black to burnt orange with hints of white-silver. Somehow this frameset resembles flickering charcoal. What a beautiful paint job by @velociao.

I had to repair damage on the rear end of this frame, and it was the perfect opportunity to add a custom truss fork and racks. I’m thrilled with this frame-fork-rack-stem combination and how it showcases the full spectrum of my work and style. Thanks for asking me to transform those tubes into a lovely bike, @_areich_

I’ve built truss forks with integrated stems before. If so, the stem has always been part of the main structure and the steerer was a single part. This time, the stem and the steerer are one unit, forming some kind of oversized quill stem.
The upsides of this design are obvious. If, for example, one wants to switch handlebars, another steering tube and a stem with the appropriate length can be used.
I love bicycles designed as one big picture, but if we’re honest about it, a bicycle forever can’t stay the same forever. Preferences change, bodies change, needs change, and the bike has to change with them.

The howler hauler / cargo ATB.
I raised my dog in a laundry basket on my @omniumcargo bike. Luckily he grew to enjoy bike touring and camping. The laundry basket became something like his save space. There was always the wish inside me to have a cargo bike with a bigger front wheel. In the city and on roads my old bike is a great way to get around but the 20inch wheel was always killing some fun when we went through forests and fields. The performance on sandy, loose or rocky ground ground is quite poor.
After talking with @portuscycles on the phone and telling him about the vague idea to buiild one as show bike for @bespoked.cc he came up with the suggestion to design it around a pinion gear box. What can I say, times are tough and I couldn’t really afford to build it at the moment. But Alex pitched the idea to @pinion_gmbh and eventually it was decided to support this project with a sponsorship. Thank you so much @portuscycles and @pinion_gmbh to help me turning this idea into reality.

The bike will be exhibited in the pinion lounge at @bespoked.cc this weekend in Dresden. Everything is packed and I am almos on my way. See you there.

@tommy.ransome brought his frame back to build it up after painting it at @velociao. They masked the raw fillets and gave it a slightly see through purple coat. The result is stunning and the green anodised @ingridcomponents crankset like made for it.
Can’t wait to finish building it up and see it rolling the first time.

@dear_susan_ came to Berlin end of march to cover the @kolektif.bike.fair for @theradavist and took some sweet pictures of our work.

This is what I contributed to the framebuilders corner this year. Somehow it felt right to not exhibit a raw frame again and I went fully smooth and painted this time.
This frameset was probably the last step or last prototype to finalise the Drust stock model I wanted to present quite some time ago already. But sometimes life does life and other things need to be prioritised.

The framebag was made by my friend Jonas of @bagfaceberlin. As always he delivered some fantastic stitching.
I held a very early piece of my work with one of his first bags in my hands yesterday and found it quite touching what a long way we made since then and that we always walked it alone but somehow hand in hand.

Big thanks to @orlo_cnc_frames who painted the frame on quite short notice and @velociao who spontaneously painted the fork basically the day before the show started. Such a Reliefe that there are people who catch me when I stumble over my poor time management.

@altonakingslayer gave me all the freedom to build a frameset as I want it to be and even agreed on my paintjob suggestion. @velociao delivered a surface refinement better than my own imagination. I like it so much. Looks like some kind of fish. Those with scary big and pointy teeth.

Raw fillets, truss fork, up to 29x2.6 tires. Boost rear and front end and tons of bosses to mount some stuff. No wishes left open.

Some pictures of the latest truss fork. There are still some flux stains here and there but lucky me, it’s a no file job.
This one comes with the option to mount the @tailfincycling 10l mini panniers directly onto the fork and add a @allygn_components diamond rack as well. The rack mount can be clamped onto the steering tube and removed when not needed.
