Drexel earned his Ron Clark Academy jacket 🎉 What I’m most proud of isn’t the moment, but the process that led here.

I’ve watched him learn how to keep going when things were uncomfortable. How to listen, adjust, and grow. How to take feedback seriously and rise to expectations that are high on purpose. None of that is accidental.

This jacket represents quiet work, steady growth, and a young boy becoming more confident in who he is and who he’s called to be.

Two weeks. No phone. No parents. No electronics. Just sports, friendships, and memories I’ll never forget.

This summer I spent two weeks at McCallie Sports Camp, and it ended up being one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

I got to play all kinds of sports — basketball, soccer, water polo, flickerball, and more. I tried new things, stepped outside my comfort zone, and learned that I’m capable of a lot more than I thought.

But camp was about more than sports.

I made new friends from different places, learned to live away from home, and spent two weeks without my parents, my phone, or any electronics. Being away wasn’t always easy, but it taught me independence, responsibility, confidence, and how to rely on myself.

Thank you to all the coaches, counselors, and staff for making this experience so special. Thank you to @wynningeducation for helping to make this possible. Already counting down until next summer. 💙

A great head to head from Xavier Carter (6th Grader) and Drexel Cottman (5th Grader). Drexel is looking more comfortable getting to his spots and handling the ball. He’s identifying that the mid-range may be his niche, while Xavier has a great feel for the game and has the potential to be a prolific 3-level scorer. Shouts to both guys being competitive for the whole workout and holding each other accountable while also encouraging one another.
