These works are inspired by long walks through the fields of Orquevaux, France, the ruins and fields of Philippi, Greece, and walks through Frick Park and across Pittsburgh with my family.

I’m thinking about how these places, across time and distance, hold memory, history, and movement. by @dskinsel

@cmuschoolofart @jonrubinstudio and his MFA students recently came through @pennavenue412 to tour the neighborhood and learn more about arts and culture organizations that reside on the Avenue.

@boom_concepts was happy to host the group and share BOOM’s history, the longstanding work of @bloomgarcorp, and what’s happening with @rotundacollab. Our good artsy neighbor @shamir_shine also joined us to share more about his work with BOOM, and his practice. taken in BOOM Concepts by @dskinsel

Sovereign Ground is an exhibition featuring Global Majority artists, exploring our ties to land, ancestors, and spirit, the small rituals that hold us, and the ways we make meaning on our own terms.

Get your self over to the opening reception happening this Thursday September 24th from 6p-9p at Brew House Arts Gallery 711 S 21st Street on the South Side.

I’m excited to have a 🧠 🦴 ♥️ piece on display in this group exhibition. When I saw the call for art it felt very connect to the work I’ve been making and sharing. Shout out to @tacumba_jr for his work in creating, curating, producing and leading all things @the.futureisblk.

I also realized during artwork drop off that it’s my first time displaying artwork at @brewhousearts - so that’s cool too. taken in Brew House Arts by @dskinsel

Over the past weekend we held our second Carnegie Prize Club event at @carnegiemuseumofart.

The outing featured photographer Eric Gyamfi offering many discussion points and thoughtful interactions while reviewing the work of Teenie Harris, Eric’s installation as part of the International, had attendees talk about their earliest photo taking experiences, looking at photography from the lens of accessibility, where the resources and equipment come from, and more.

We thank Eric, Delaney, Liz and Dana for another special afternoon in the museum and look forward to our next trip! by @dskinsel

Been thinking about how much we’ve actually gotten done at @boom_concepts in the year of our lord 2026.

We’ve produced and supported:

🏀 Sweat and Sacrifice Group Exhibtion at @emeraldcity_pgh - which included paper football with the @pittsburghmayorsoffice

🎨 Everyday Afrofuturism sculpture install by @shamir_shine x @assemblepgh - the first art project on the BOOM Green-lots that BOOM owns in Garfield.

🎨 The Long Walk #kinselcollection exhibition at the @frick_environmental_center

🏠 BOOM Universe Residency supporting three artist onsite @ 5139 Penn Avenue and two artist down at @radianthall dahntahn

📚 our continued work with @shadylaneschool babies which has been happening for like almost ten years

🤝 Artists Taking Care of Artists professional development workshops

🕊️ Hosted The @thestolendove dinner and community gathering

🖼️ Invite only tours of @carnegiemuseumofart If the word we 59th Carnegie International with CMOA curators

🏛️ x 🎲 Stoop Games @ The Rotunda, @rotundacollab tours, activations, and the ongoing work to bring this building back to life with @bloomgarcorp

I’m proud of our work. Yall have no clue how much @thomas_jenesis and I have to do and say and be to make this shit happen. Two black men making artsy shit happen, having integrity, and staying true to our peoples.

The exhibitions, the artist support, the youth programs, the gatherings, the public space, the partnerships, the opportunities, and all the big life emergencies that people come to us to solve and support that don’t/wont’t/can’t always make it into a press release.

We’ve been at it for a minute. We got a few more things happening and we want YOU to tap in and (re)connect. by @dskinsel
