You gave me hell.
You gave me jokes I still use to this day.
You gave me confidence.
You gave me a love of theatre.
You gave me an understanding of repercussions and the importance of preparation.
You gave me lessons I still bring to my own classrooms.
You gave me guidance.
You gave me love.

Mr. Ledford, you gave us all so much. You were such a big, positive, caring, nurturing presence in so many lives, and especially mine. You’re not gone. You’re still with me. You’re still with so many of us in so many ways.

Rest easy old man, you’ve earned it. by @dtcouter

Last year, Keegon had an awesome idea to take the form of the “exquisite corpse” into the field of playwriting. They’d write three pages, send me the third - I’d read only that, write three pages and send my final page. We wrote two plays in this fashion last year.

If you’re so inclined and in the Memphis area, you can come to hear them read by some awesome actors this Sunday (8/25) 5:30pm CST at TheatreSouth (1000 S.Cooper.) And if you’d like the zoom link, you can DM @alice_in_901derland taken in TheatreSouth by @dtcouter

Didn’t go anywhere awe-inspiring this summer, but I did get to do some amazing things here in the city.

I directed a show at the New York Institute for Special Education with all blind students ranging from second grade to seniors. Working with those students specifically was so rewarding - gratitude inducing at a different level, but also challenging in a whole new way. How does one block a show when the actors can’t see you or each other? Also, got my name in a program that was all in braille. Bucket list, check!

Then I returned to Ripley-Grier to direct Inside Broadway’s summer stock production of Aladdin, which was so much fun specifically because we got the old team together!

Melodye and Robbie, thank you so much for all of your help this summer! Here’s to many more! taken in New York, New York by @dtcouter

Just finished another quick trip through the world of Lon Chaney with another reading of “Man of A Thousand Faces.” This week was filled with lots of laughs and plenty of tears thanks to the wonderful script and story we had to work with! What a wonderful group of artists this was. Until we meet again -
