A small excerpt from our concert last month in Antwerp. We had the pleasure to play an Spanish & Argentinian programme in the beautiful Galerie Dijkstra. Thank you to a very warm audience and the wonderful programme notes given by the great Hungarian violinist Kati Sebestyén, and thank you to the Spanish ambassador in Antwerp for gifting us her presence and kind words.

Watch the whole piece in our YouTube channel!

Sneak peek into last Sunday's creative session at the @eyetopencil . Amidst a buzzing Exmouth Market Street, curtains drawn to create atmosphere, we found ourselves surrounded by artists of all kinds.

As we played our English Nature through Music programme, a light rumbling of pencils on paper filled the room as our audience experienced the music through drawing. Lights were dim, the projector on, preparing the final piece of the concert, a screening of @rrrojasss film on the Frank Bridge cello Sonata.

As the situation goes on in Valencia, a region very dear to us, we were grateful to use this opportunity to send our support from a distance to the many friends and families who've been affected by the floods.❤️‍🩹

Many many thanks to @lucieyerspainting
for leading and organising so beautifully the session, for preparing all the drawing materials and for orchestrating the wonderful setting. And thank you with all our heart to those who spent their Sunday with us creating beautiful drawings. We've shared three portraits of us here, but perhaps more will come on a different post (if you would like a mention, let us know!) ❤️🙏🏻

In December 2022 this was happening at the Galerie Dijkstra in Antwerp, Belgium! We cannot wait to open the VivArte series at the gallery this year.

Join us again in just a few days for our performance of Popular Songs & Dance from Spain and Argentina. This concert will be accompanied by some wonderful introductions to our works (in Flemish) by our beloved violinist Kati Sebestyén.

We cannot wait to see you on October 20th at 12:00h! And...entry will be free ☀️

Vibrations from our last concert still sounding in our hearts since last Sunday, we thought to write a small post to express our immense gratitude to the @hastingschambermusicfestival and beautiful musician @janegordonviolin for making this happen.

Last Sunday, we had the most amazing time playing our Spanish and Argentinian programme in the trendy and relaxed atmosphere of the @kinoteatrarts in Hastings.

The smell of fresh coffee in the air and a misty seaside morning awaiting outside the old cinema, the concert started with a fun Q&A, which gave us a chance to present our music and connect with our audience. It felt like such a journey to play through our unique cycle of Spanish and Argentinian songs and dances, ending with the Gran Tango by Piazzolla. We felt very lucky to receive our lovely audience after the concert and chat with them over a cup of coffee.

What a way to kick off our season! We are now looking forward to our trip to Belgium next month. See you at Gallerie Dijkstra in Antwerp.☺️🌞🎼

A look back at the @bridge.proj that I worked on with @duofabulae last year.

It has been such a fun project that’s led me to explore the rural landscapes of Sussex, the life of Frank Bridge, and to experiment with macro watercolours!

These are some of my favourite images from the first movement. To watch the full film, follow the vimeo link in my bio.

Another short clip from our last concert! In the opening statement played by the viola the “maja” or “beloved” says:

‘Because my eyes
hold such an intense gaze
in order to avoid
disdain and fighting
I tend to look away’

This music is from Enrique Granados “El mirar de la maja”, one from 12 Tonadillas in old style. “Tonadilla” is a short Spanish song popular in the 18th century, later evolving into Zarzuela.

Filming credits to @cantodura 🎬📽️

We now have a tree counter on the donation section of our website!! Link on bio!🌳 With our last concert we started with excitement our collaboration with the organisation Plant-for-the-planet.

In response to Yvain's new fun arrangement of Marquez's Danzón, which was our surprise encore piece, we decided to donate to the reforestation project in Yucatán, Mexico.

Our love for nature has been hidden in all our programmes, but it really was with the Frank Bridge project that we really brought it to the foreground.

Today we hope to forge with our audience a community that has a mission with the planet. Head to our website to keep track of our forest!

You can also help us! grow by donating to our donorbox at www.duofabulae.com/donations/

Rhythmical flamenco style opening from Manuel de Falla’s El Paño Moruno performed last Saturday. Big thank you to @cantodura for the splendid camera work!

Published in 1914, this song is the first one of the Siete Canciones Populares Españolas (Seven Popular Spanish Songs). El Paño Moruno, based on a Murcian folk song, flows in a flamenco-like three meter, and bursts with Spanish guitar figuration.
