POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Belated Field of Vision appreciation post! Sometimes you need the dust to settle on something to fully appreciate it. This place and festival is truly something special and I’m so grateful we get to do it every year. Thanks to all the incredible people that make it happen. Thanks to my wife for following me around the world. Thanks to all the friends and family that travelled out.

Also:
- go to a drag show
- try dressing in drag
- it’s fun 🌈 ❤️

I started watching Spicks and Specks with my family when I was 15, and now I watch it with my own kids. So naturally being on the show has been a huge pipe dream for me. It was genuinely surreal & insanely special that I got to do it with a bunch of incredibly talented people. Thanks @adamhillscomedy, Alan and @myfwarhurst for having me - I had the best time ❤️

Other notable legends were @miss_harbinger @jbarr_666 and my teammate/new bestie @waka_waka_yay_yay with a memorable substitute.

@senatorbriggs and @thebignoter absolutely ripped the closer too!

Joy is a tiny trumpet in your bones
Do not let beastly fear settle in your stomach
Do not let your wild abandon be tamed
Your pleasure has the power to disrupt the status quo
Revel in each lashing of change
Delight in the dispensable now
Wallow in the humiliation of becoming
Your wonder is not childish, it is ancient
Your joy is not foolish, it is sacred

My Mum - Fiona Skinner née Foott - passed away on May 20th after a long battle with breast cancer. She was a vivacious force of a woman. Eternally positive, energetic, extroverted and worldly. As a mother she was kind and encouraging, firm but friendly and could spot bullshit a mile off. She kept us honest and taught us to advocate for ourselves. She listened openly, loved overtly, laughed loudly and squeezed tightly.

She encouraged me to pursue music more than anyone. She trusted me to go to shows and festivals alone from age 15, paid for tickets when we were skint, picked up countless car loads full of gear and bandmates after gigs at any time of night and even helped me get a fake ID to go to and play shows.

Her influence on the Geelong community was profound and far reaching. She had an ineffable reputation as a swimming teacher but also a figure of significance to anyone who had the privilege of crossing her path, even briefly.

She constantly surrounded herself with family and friends who will miss her deeply.

Fiona loved seeing Gizzard play at any opportunity and would’ve wanted the show to roll on, so that’s what I’ll be doing. by @duskytracks

Proud as punch of the new @heavy_moss LP! Thanks to my comrades in rock @becgoring @samisaman and @kyzie for shredding with heart ❤️

The vinyl is limited to 1000 copies, and there’s still a handful left on the @pdoomrecords Aus and Eu stores. USA is sold out, but it’s in a select few record stores over there. Check in at your local and ask them if they’re cool enough if you’re chasing by @duskytracks

@kinggizzard ‘s 26th record Flight b741 is out now!

This is a particularly special one for me as I somehow plucked up the courage to put a song on the table. Which is a hard thing to do for me to do when I work with songwriters and musicians that I absolutely idolise. But as much as my brothers in rock strive for perfection in their own work, they care and collaborate openly and earnestly in mine too. Which is real nice and cute and special and I’m real lucky thanks boys xo
