This oughta come as a shock to my younger self who believed tattoos were terribly stupid, irreversible decisions that people inevitably come to regret due to the simple fact that times change, and people change. And he'd absolutely be right. So if I was going to make a decision this daft, its meaning would need to justify all the ways it could go wrong and go stupid.

It had to be music.

And when I thought of music, only one band came to mind. KGLW. A band that has influenced me in ways I can't describe with words (and yet), whose sound has shaped the way I experience life, a band whose music has imbued my twenties with immense meaning, whose generosity has known no bounds, whose breadth of work not only has pushed the boundaries of what one band can do, but what music itself can do.. a band whose dynamic body of work has accurately reflected the vastness, as well as the silliness of human experience.

There are few artists that have shown me to myself the way these guys have, and have formed neural connections in my brain that'd have otherwise been impossible to create. There have been times I have consciously felt the inside of my brain being rearranged listening to them pull something off on stage, and I swear it wasn't the substances. On substances though, listening to them not only felt like I was in the presence of God, it made me believe that their music 𝘸𝘢𝘴 God.

It's the fact that these guys have already done so much good, even if they were to go ahead and make shit music for the rest of their lives, hell even if they become serial killers and commit mass atrocities - the amount of Good they've done would outweigh it all, and nothing can take that away.

Suffice to say, I like this band. Knowing what I know about them, getting a tattoo wasn't optional. It was imperative. If I were to have only one tattoo for the rest of my life, I'm ecstatic to have dedicated it to the greatest band making music today.

Huge shoutout to the amazing talent that is @noovacation. Appreciate you for bearing with my very particular feedback. Woman with the coolest job in the world. Doing god's work.
