Los Angeles’ Lower Heaven drew subtle inspiration from the darker side of British alternative rock while forging a sound entirely of their own: towering shoegaze guitars, post-rock dynamics and haunting melodies, balancing moments of crushing intensity with striking beauty and restraint.

Their debut, Ashes (originally released in 2008), unfolds through shimmering textures, expansive arrangements and an atmosphere that constantly shifts between melancholy and hope. It has quietly earned cult status among fans of emotionally charged, atmospheric music, and nearly two decades on it stands as a timeless and criminally overlooked record, more relevant than ever amid the resurgence of shoegaze and guitar-driven dream rock.

For the first time ever on vinyl, Dust and Memory proudly presents Ashes as a limited edition coloured vinyl, giving this long-unavailable album the deluxe physical edition it has always deserved. (D&M 009)

The Quarter After are proud to announce for the very first time, a deluxe vinyl release of our 2nd album, Changes Near coming out this October on the Dust and Memory label.
Here are quotes from reviews when it was first released in 2008- “The Quarter After bring you more of their timeless blend of psychedelic folk, baroque pop and lush West Coast harmonies- placing them firmly within the lineage of the Los Angeles psychedelic tradition. Richly arranged and beautifully understated, the album unfolds through warm acoustic textures, intricate vocal harmonies and shimmering instrumentation, creating a cinematic listening experience.”
Changes Near has never been available on vinyl before. Dust and Memory proudly presents Chamges Near as a deluxe edition, pressed on limited edition sky blue coloured vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve with a printed inner sleeve, giving this overlooked modern classic the premium physical edition it has always deserved.
