Growing up, I had a poster on my wall with a bold statement, “There is no finish line”
I took this advice to heart, that self-improvement and dedication are lifelong pursuits, rather than chasing a trophy or a single destination. Throughout my life, true success has been about constantly challenging myself, and my experiences on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route have taught me about perseverance, dedication, and gratitude. My four attempts on this iconic 2,700 mile route pushed me to all my limits and I learned so much about myself along the way. What a gift! I’m incredibly fortunate that I was able to dedicate so much time and effort to accomplishing this challenge.

There is indeed no finish line, my journey continues, and I’ll forever hold so much love for the GDMBR, its stunning landscapes, and the trail angels along the way.

Thank you @adventurecycling for creating this route (and so many others around the U.S.) to my beloved brothers @ridepriority for always having my back, and to my friends and family for all the love and support. I LOVE YOU!

Stay tuned for an entire series of videos on my YouTube channel. You’re gonna love meeting all the inspiring people I met along the way.

And now…I sleep ;)

All Heart! This film digs deep into my archives to tell a story of chasing dreams, resilience, and blessings in disguise. You’ll also get a ringside seat into the push and pull of the relationship with my mom. Thank you @rfhscenes for creating this documentary, I couldn’t have done it without you. No trees were cut down to make my book! I chose to self publish because I wanted total control over the printing process. This baby is as eco friendly as a book can be! It’s made from 100% recycled paper AND uses bio based algae inks! Whaat? It’s printed in my hometown of Boulder, CO at a family run business and ships in 100% up-cycled newspaper mailers that can be put in your curbside recycling. NO PLASTIC ALLOWED!

I’m a big believer that little things add up to make a big difference. Mother Nature needs us to care.

If you’ve read it and enjoyed it, please share! Self publishing also means self marketing:) You can buy it at the link in my bio *shipping outside of the U.S. is crazy expensive, wait for the ebook if that applies to you*

If this is your first time hearing about my book, it’s about my very first bike adventure from Honduras to Colorado and how it lead to a lifetime of chasing crazy dreams.

Huge thanks to @ridepriority for taking care of fulfillment!! I was not about to store thousands of books in my tiny apartment 😂 taken in Boulder, Colorado by @duzer

I ate a big serving of humble pie yesterday. Ouch!

But first, I love the @boulderthon so much! It’s in its 6th year now and better than ever. I’m a big fan of anything that motivates people to get out and challenge themselves (and the community engagement is inspiring).

Ok, back to my sufferfest 🤣 These 26 miles hurt way worse than any 100 miler I’ve done. I essentially walked/hobbled the final 10 miles. It took everything I had to keep moving forward, even though my joints and muscles were screaming at me to stop. Needless to say, mom and Dana were very worried when they saw me at mile 25, but some hugs and a cold fizzy water got me moving again. I managed to jog the final half mile with motivation from @scottjurek and @jureksontherun

I’m blaming the pain on a lack of training big miles. Since I finished riding the divide in early August, I’ve been taking it pretty easy. Turns out, biking does not get you in shape for running (nor does not running).

Although I felt like poo, I’m really happy that I pushed myself to the finish line. It’s so cool that we finally have a big marathon in my beloved Boulder.

First pic with @runboulder was at mile 3 when everything was right in the world. And thank you Jenny for filming my triumphant finish 🤣 I think my time was 4 hours 22 minutes, an hour slower than last year.

At 47 I’m still learning (or relearning) lessons. TRAINING IS VITAL! taken in Boulder, Colorado by @duzer

I love this bike! I rode the prototype of the 600ADX on the divide in 2020 and from that point onwards, it’s taken me on adventures all around the world. It’s comfortable, it’s low maintenance, and it can handle the roughest of terrain. The huge range of gears can get me up any mountain (thank you Pinion) and the no lube Gates Carbon Drive lasts 3 times longer than a chain. I had ZERO mechanical issues and not even a flattie for 2500 miles. Thank you @ridepriority for creating this bike with me, best collab of my life! taken in Antelope Wells, New Mexico by @duzer

Five years ago, I busted my belt on this steep section of the Continental Divide Trail north of Silver City. It ended my adventure prematurely, but it didn’t end my dream. In fact, it motivated me to come back and try again. taken in Silver City, New Mexico by @duzer

I’ll be honest, I had some reservations about inviting 25 people to join me for 550 miles of the Great Divide, but the past 8 days with these wonderful people have been incredible. I’ll have more to say later (I’m so tired and I need to go to sleep) but my heart is full. It’s back to solo life on the trail tomorrow, 405 miles to the finish line in Antelope Wells. Thank you to my beloved friends from Priority Bicycles for helping to make this unique experience a reality. taken in Grants, New Mexico by @duzer

Thank you to the kind people of Pueblo Pintado of the Navajo Nation for letting us take cover from a massive storm in your community center. Riding with the group has been fantastic, we’ll get to Grants, NM tomorrow, where the group will get on a bus back to Denver, and I’ll keep pedaling the final 400 miles!!
