The runDisney Companion is a celebration of everything that makes runDisney unique, blending practical advice with personal stories and inspiration. It helps runners understand how to prepare for race weekends while also highlighting the magic of running through Disney parks, meeting characters, dressing up, earning unforgettable medals, and sharing the experience with family and friends. At its heart, the book reminds readers that a runDisney race is about much more than the miles—it’s about chasing dreams, creating lifelong memories, and enjoying the journey along the way.

And on a personal note, I’m so appreciative of Lisa for including some of our core memories—both in photos and in spirit (IYKYK)—in this book. It truly means so much to have those special moments captured in such a meaningful way.

A lovely evening in Detroit celebrating our anniversary. Dinner at Adelina. The food was so delicious! We had the Wagyu meatball, focaccia with the most amazing olive spread, ravioli, chicken, and ended with our favorite dessert: tiramisu.

We then walked to the Cambria hotel, which we explored for a bit before heading to the Edgar Allen Poe Speakeasy 🐈‍⬛ hosted there. The actors told four tales, each paired with a signature themed cocktail.

The smoke was clearing, the weather was gorgeous, and of course, top notch company.

I can’t imagine a more perfect night in our city. 🏙️

We are in for Springtime Surprise.
We aren't always in for this weekend, but the draw of Robin Hood pushed us over the top!
@shelleykathleen_ is running the 10k
Robin Hood has always been her childhood favorite.
She has never met Robin Hood in the parks or during a race, so this will be checked off her bucket list.
I will be running the 10 miler!

A destination race really isn't just about running a race. It's about visiting new places, making memories, and experiencing everything the city has to offer.
This weekend, we had an incredible time in Atlanta for the Peachtree Road Race!
From meeting up with friends from around the country, soaking in the festive atmosphere at The Battery, catching a Braves game at Truist Park, and wrapping up one night with an amazing dinner at The Vortex, this weekend honestly exceeded every expectation.
As for the race itself...
The expo experience was a bit rough—they can definitely tighten up that process. But race day? Absolutely top-notch.
If I had to describe the Peachtree Road Race in one sentence, it would be this: It's the energy, enthusiasm, and crowd support of a major city marathon, packed into just 6.2 miles.
I'll absolutely be back... but next time I'll probably just have my bib mailed to me. 😝
Now, as I sit here waiting to board our flight home and reminiscing about the weekend, I just want to say thank you to everyone who took the time to meet up with us. From the snark, to the laughs, to the very sweaty hugs, you all made an already amazing weekend even more special.

Date night last Friday ❤️
I think everyone knows how much I enjoy a night in downtown Detroit.
Shells and I kicked things off at the Museum of Illusions, which was an absolute blast! We then grabbed dinner at Union Assembly, right across from Comerica Park where the Tigers play, and capped off the night at the speakeasy-style Bad Luck Bar.
It should be noted all of thos is within walking distance of eschother.
I know a lot of people still have outdated perceptions of Detroit, but I'm here to tell you that our city has made some great improvements. The energy is back, the downtown area is thriving, and there's a sense of excitement that's hard to describe unless you've experienced it.
Detroit is far from perfect, but seeing the city continue to grow and come alive again makes me proud to call it home.

“I Ran the D 5K" was incredible!

As most of you know, we love our city, and I’ve always loved my hometown Detroit sports teams. Being able to run a 5K through the downtown streets of Detroit in the shadows of Ford Field and Comerica Park — then getting the chance to walk the field at Comerica afterward — was such an awesome experience.

We stayed downtown the night before so we could walk to and from the race, and honestly, the convenience and extra sleep were worth every penny.
I would highly recommend this race to anyone.

Between the atmosphere, the course, and the love for the city, it was an unforgettable experience. This will definitely become an annual tradition for us moving forward.

Hippity hopped my way through a sunrise 5K, celebrated with well-earned mimosas 🥂, then traded miles for memories at EPCOT. Nothing beats starting the day with a run and ending it laughing, snacking, and shenanigans around the world with great

With wind in our hair, a few rain drops here and there, we toured Epcot's Flower and Garden festival.
Our focus was snacking our way around Epcot trying different foods we had scouted out the night before.
From “just one bite” to “okay… maybe one more,” we turned the festival into a full-on food tour.
And somehow, between the gusts and the grazing, we still managed to strike a pose for most PhotoPass cameras. I've never seen a photopass opportunity I didn't like! 🤪
Today was proof that a little wind and a few sprinkes of rain can’t stop good vibes, great food, and even better memories.
