George Gilliatt is a 27-year-old British product designer at the LEGO Group. His journey with @lego started early, as he received his first set at the age of four, which sparked his lifelong passion for building with LEGO bricks. After joining the LEGO Group as an intern, @georgegilliatt quickly made a name for himself, becoming the creative force behind several iconic LEGO sets. His career was particularly meaningful as he worked alongside the designers whose creations had shaped his childhood. Gilliatt's career took a pivotal turn when he collaborated with Pharrell Williams on the groundbreaking "Over the Moon" LEGO set. The partnership, which also included the biopic Piece by Piece, was unique because it allowed both Williams and LEGO to explore new creative territory by building something bespoke rather than following movie tie-ins. With @pharrell fascination with space, inspired by watching spacecrafts take off during his youth, the project was a natural fit for Gilliatt, who had already worked on space-themed LEGO projects. The collaboration involved several innovative elements, including customizable minifigures, with 51 different skin tones and genders, to enhance representation. The final design, a futuristic spaceship inspired by Pharrell's past work, was praised for its dynamic angle and visual impact, elements that Gilliatt particularly enjoyed bringing to life. This partnership not only expanded LEGO's creative boundaries but also highlighted @georgegilliatt ability to merge his personal experiences with cutting-edge design Follow @dvrsu for more creative economy news 🌎 #dverse #lego #pharrellwilliams #creative #design by @dvrsu
