I didn't realise until I had been sitting by the well for some time that I was right next to a busy wasp's nest! But all was ok, we respected each others space and no harm was done. Last call to join me on a Dwellbeing Walk in Harbledown this Friday. Starting at 11am, we will walk a circular route, wandering and wondering on the spirit of place here. All welcome. £15pp. DM me for joining and payment details. Would be great to walk with you. taken in Harbledown by @dwellbeinglife

We were looking for somewhere to stop for a break coming back from Southampton at the weekend- somewhere to enjoy some sunshine and the remainder of my birthday cake,(thanks @almacaira !)
We pulled up in the parking area by this church near the River Rother- West Sussex, spotted a seat in the sunshine, in the churchyard and went over but as always our curiousity got the better of us and we went in. What the amazing sunlight did, coming in the stained glass window and falling onto a huge bunch of flowers was just awesome. This church of St George, (I don't know of any other ones actually) had wonderful wall paintings too and these exquisite cross stitch kneelers. There were so many of them, they must have a loyal and nimble fingered congregation. A couple of notices in the church porch caught our eye, one talked of the notable wall paintings, the other was Alan Bennett pointing out the extraordinary and awkward placement of a huge tomb directly in front of the altar. I think this was a knight who came back from the Battle of Agincourt and married the widow of Hotspur. I remember reading a Shakespeare novel for my O level ( yes I am that old!) which mentions Hotspur- I always thought it a very romantic name, alongside Falstaff- 'Henry the 4th', Part 2? Anyhow- a beautiful church, well worth a visit if you are passing. taken in St George's Church, Trotton by @dwellbeinglife

It was another beautiful sunset at Seasalter tonight. We have had a good week of them, they are gradually getting earlier and it is getting a bit chillier- I am back into wearing my socks and boots again for evening walks. (mmm, lovely and snug!) The curlews were calling out from the distant tideline- always a melancholic but beautiful sound. taken in Seasalter, Kent, United Kingdom by @dwellbeinglife

We had a great Dwellbeing walk up Holly Hill today- the Autumn sunshine and dappled shade is such a relief to walk in after such a long hot Summer. We found the folly, fungi, sloes and berries. It really is a wonderful walk and a short drive from the carpark to The Red Lion at Hernhill for refreshment afterwards! My next walk is at Harbledown in a few weeks timw- Friday the 16th of October. After this we explore Perry Woods, Selling near Faversham on Saturday the 7th of November. Back to here- Holly Hill on Friday the 4th of December, when the views are even more impressive as the trees will have shed their leaves. Come and join me- book a place via my website- (in bio) or DM me here. All walks start at 11am and are about 90 mins in length and less of a hike, more of a gentle wander together in fascinating places. All welcome. £15pp. taken in Holly Hill by @dwellbeinglife

A beautiful couple of hours spent with fellow Dwellbeings at Streamwalk Community Gardens today. The sun shone, we explored with magnifying glass and a lens and found some pretty bugs. Looked after really well by Irene- one of the many lovely volunteers here- with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits, and buying fresh veg and jars of preserves to take home. Thank you! This was a great introduction to Autumn- with books, poems and painting, we even made time to create a little mandala as a gesture of thanks to the land and all beings who live there. The next one- a Winter Dwellbeing mini- retreat is booked for Wednesday 11th of November, from 11-1pm and £15pp. Come and join us- all welcome. DM me to reserve your place and receive more details. It would be lovely to see you. by @dwellbeinglife

The colours are changing! Even getting out for a walk in the rain earlier this week proved this as the wet surfaces and raindrops really enhanced the deep new colours. Come and join me on Wednesday (16/09/26) for an Autumn Dwellbeing mini- retreat at StreamWalk Community Garden in Whitstable next week. The places available are booking up quickly- just £15pp for 2 hours of deep immersion in a new season, observing and celebrating this wonderful garden with likeminded others. We will wander gently, looking at the changes and work creatively in making a little record of the time and place to take home. DM me here for more information or via my contact page on my website- see Instagram Bio. All welcome. See you soon! by @dwellbeinglife

The Autumn session is taking place on Wednesday the 16th of September. If spending time outdoors appeals to you and you don't know quite where to start, how to be or what to do, then join me for a couple of hours next week. We will look at nature closely, refreshments will be available and a good retreat from everyday life and pace will be had.
The session runs from 11-1pm and costs just £15pp- DM me for more details and I will email them to you. All are welcome, I would love to see you there.

Last week I did another recording for a Dwellbeing 'Wanderings and Wonderings' podcast. This one was on Angel's allotment in Tonbridge, Kent. It was another hot day, so we gladly harvested some vegetables and flowers, ate some raspberries and chatted whilst we did so. Angel has a great eye for colour- just look at these dahlias! I aim to publish the podcast on Substack next week. DM me your email address if you want to be notified straight away. Enjoy the colours now of late summer as we slip into Autumn and cosier times. taken in Tonbridge, Kent by @dwellbeinglife
