Back home after a sun-soaked, inspiring week on the Côte d’Azur, recharging for everything that’s ahead.

This year’s Cannes was a very special one for all of us at Dirty Work.

We’re incredibly proud to be bringing home:

✨ 2 Gold Lions
✨ 3 Silver Lions
✨ 4 Bronze Lions
✨ 19 Shortlists

Most of these recognitions came from a project that means the world to us, Beat Cancer Off, a mixed-media film created alongside VML Health New York and Jamute. Fun, emotional, visually rich and collaborative, it perfectly reflects the kind of work we love making at Dirty Work.

We also celebrated a Bronze Lion and two Shortlists for Dirt Is Glory, created with MullenLowe and KondZilla. The film brought together eight grassroots “Arsenal” teams from Brazil to compete in the OMO Varzenal Cup, earning the chance of a lifetime to play at Emirates Stadium.

A huge thank you to VML Health New York, MullenLowe, and everyone who trusted us, collaborated with us, challenged us, and helped bring these projects to life.

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together and deeply grateful for every collaboration that made it possible.

We wanted something that would add another layer to the idea, not just illustrate it. That’s when we landed on mixed media. The film brings together artists from different backgrounds, combining a wide range of animation techniques in a highly collaborative process. Just as each culture has its own expression, each artist could bring a unique interpretation to the film. This led us to the idea that “everyone can lend a hand” in building it creatively.

We looked for bold, expressive styles full of personality. In total, more than 50 artists contributed to the film, working across traditional 2D animation, cut-out, 3D, puppetry and live action.

The craft itself became part of the concept. We embraced a hands-on approach, aiming to involve as many literal “hands” as possible in the process. The aesthetic leaned into a handmade feel, with visible textures, tactile elements and puppet characters manipulated on screen.
To bring all these techniques together, we established a clear art direction system. Backgrounds were kept minimal, while the color palette focused on a range of skin tones, creating cohesion across the film and the campaign as a whole.

We’re proud to drop our latest work 🍆🍆🍆

In partnership with @vml_global and @letsfcancer , Beat Cancer Off is a mixed-media project using 3D animation, 2D animation, cut out animation, puppets, live action, all stroked together and driven by a catchy track that plays with more than 21 different ways to say “masturbate” around the world.

Over 50 artists got their hands dirty on this one, a real hands-on process from start to finish.
The kind of project you don’t just deliver, you have a good time while doing it 🚀

Still in New York City, our other project, Nike Feary Tales, kicked off its festival run at Clio Sports with 2 Golds, including one for Film Craft, and 1 Bronze.

The fearless energy of these badass girls was definitely contagious and helped push this film further, all the way to the awards stage.

This is the result of hard work and a lot of love. We truly had the best time bringing this one to life alongside our friends at @wiedenkennedysp and @nike

Wow, 2025 is shaping up to be a year to remember.
We’re heading into the holidays loaded with wins at @clioawards , straight from New York City.

Gavião just took home 2 Grand Prix titles plus Team of the Year. On top of that, 5 Golds, including one in the Film category, and 1 Silver.
