What a wild ride this past month has been... Selling all my shit and clearing my apartment. Going to Sedona for my third summit of FFS. Spending the next weekend in a circle of Men who are elders and have decades of experience in Men's work. Discussing for three days what is the future of Men's work in this modern world. Then making it to Arkadia festival on Saturday after a crazy experience of walking off my flight on Thursday. More about all this to come... Life is incredible, and I know I came for it all. All the love, joy, pleasure, and light. AND also all the pain, heartbreak, unknown, and shadow. The less I try to mute the highs and the lows, the more rich my life has become. I made a pretty big mistake when I started learning music production... I spent way too much time learning HOW to make music. I was watching tutorials, learning new techniques, trying to understand EVERYTHING! But something I've learned over the past couple of years is that you don't need to know very much before you can start creating. And that's one of the biggest ideas behind Vanilla Dubstep. 🍦😈 I want to make it easier for someone who's never even considered making music to sit down, follow a few simple steps, and create something they can actually listen to. No music theory, fancy equipment, or years of experience. Just the process of making something from absolutely nothing. I'll never forget this feeling... πŸ₯Ή This video is from my very first 10 hours of learning music production. What you're hearing is nothing special, just a simple loop I managed to put together. But look at the immense joy I'm feeling!!! πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ I remember this moment so vividly because I was absolutely blown away by the fact that I had just MADE MUSIC. Like, actual music... that didn't exist before. And I was the one who created it. 🀯 It's hard to describe just how fucking cool that feeling is until you've experienced it yourself. And honestly, that's a big part of why I created Vanilla Dubstep. 🍦 😈 I want other people to experience that same elation of hearing something they created for the very first time. Except instead of spending 10 hours figuring out how to make a simple loop like I did, I've built a step-by-step system to help complete beginners create their first dubstep drop, even if they've never touched a piece of music production software before. I genuinely believe more people would fall in love with the act of making music if getting started didn't seem so overwhelming and unapproachable. Shambhala 2026... I don't know if things could have gone more perfectly. The magick of Shambhala lies in the ability to flow with the present moment. To adjust/completely scrap your plans as new possibilities become available. To say yes to things worth exploring while simultaneously having a strong no for those that don't feel in alignment. After a few years of hiatus and much time reflecting on what my intention was going into this Shambhala, I think I nailed it. An ever moving tightrope walk of balancing being a rave dad and holding space for others, and enjoying the experience for myself and doing things I wanted to do. Whereas in previous years, I found myself unbalanced and too far into the role of rave dad, where I would leave feeling like I had "sacrificed" too much of my own personal experience. It moves me to tears how significant this year was. It being my 10th year, and the 1st year for my girlfriend and my father (while my brother and mother have been coming for many years now). Yet another dream from a far away past version of myself that has come true... To have my father attend something like Shambhala is, in fact, nothing short of miraculous. This year has been full of miracles. Dreams I held on to dearly, dreams that I clung to when I lay broken on the floor and everything around me in shambles, dreams that inspired me to crawl when all I could do was crawl, and to stand up again and again, everytime life knocked me down. The passage: "God's delays are not God's denials. He has heard your prayer, & in His perfect timing, He will answer." ...has never felt more true and something that I now know full-heartedly. If I could shout one thing out into this world, that I hope would be received by you reading this, like an arrow hitting its target: Allow yourself to dream "impossible" things. Hang on to the dreams that are the most meaningful to you, dispute how many times you fail or how many years pass. And lastly, be open to receiving miracles (to receive more/greater than your efforts or what you think you deserve). I've been silently working away for the last few months... My first EP will be dropping in the next week! A year ago this time I released my first single, and now I'll be dropping four new tracks. For those who have been following my journey, I've passed 2000 hours and am on my way to hit 2500, which will be 25% of my 10,000 hour goal! Holy frick!
