Christmas presents from people who understand me... by @dylanmarkemery

My Christmas painting treat to myself. Again from the huge catalogue of Reaper Miniatures, the main challenge is to make the shadows of snow look like shadows and not just dirt.
I particularly like the candy cane twatting stick.

I actually used these three festive thugs in a Dungeons and Dragons game last week. The PCs have to save the Winter Queen and King (red and white costumed celestials - lawful good, natch - who make toys for the children of Faerun) from the clutches of a evil creature who wants to destroy them.

If anyone wants to play a guessing game, the baddie is also lawfu, but evil - also likes dividing the kids up into lists but focuses just on punishing the bad ones rather than rewarding the good.

He is a mythological figure from the real world.

Any guesses? by @dylanmarkemery

Finally finished painting my frost giant (from Reaper Miniatures, in case you want to know) I've put a regular human-size figure next to it give it scale.
It's my first attempt at non-metallic metal - there are no metallic paints at all - everything that looks shiny i've manually painted on the shine.
The cutting edge of the axe is the most obvious and unrealistic bit - instead of making the top reflect a white sky and bottom reflect a green/brown ground, i made it all very blue to white. Note also the brass buttons, the engraving on the armour and the axe head.
It's not very neat but it's a start.

Making Xmas elves with the family, I went a bit off-piste, inspired by the brilliant Alex Brightman and the fabulous Beetlejuice on Broadway. See it if you can...
