We will never make sense of it. Our sweet and brilliant cheeky boy. Full of health and the world at his feet. It will never be ok. But what we do now is try our best. To swing our legs out the bed each morning and make sure other families like ours feel their strongest. And we take Dylan with us in it all. 👆 Why we launched and what we are doing to help families in a practical way that can truly support and nurture families and their children through what can be a lonely and difficult time 💪 It can be so difficult to know what advice to follow and who to turn to when beginning a journey like this with your child.

Having been through this ourselves, advocating for families and children going through cancer is something we are so passionate about, and working with hospitals to supply healthy foods and snacks just recently, we have already had phenomenal feedback on the difference it’s making to how people feel. It’s all about just feeling the best we can amidst what is already super tough. That’s what we are here for, and will continue to be here for anytime you need us. The NHS has no food standards when it comes to children's meals. 👎

Last week at our fundraiser Louise spoke about the impact food has on our children and how the food she fed Dylan helped him through his cancer journey.

Kids are currently being fed food that doesn't have a nutritional rating, which are adult meals and the children have no say so in what they receive.

Children deserve to have fresh healthy meals with lots of vitamins and are nutrient dense to help them feel strong and support them through treatment.

Empowering families and their children going through cancer since 2022 🫶💪 Because there’s nothing quite like the hug that good nutritious food can offer when a family is on it’s knees and struggling with one of life’s sourest lemons. Together we are stronger. Thank to all those who help us do what we do ✨ Taking Easter bags to our families supported by the amazing @fabdabdo_ was so special and it means a lot to be able to help people in this way.

What a night! 🍾

Thank you the incredible Laura Hamilton for hosting an amazing fashion event to help raise money, awareness and support for The Dylan Strong Foundation.

We were overwhelmed with the amount of people showed up for us and donated their time and money to help raise vital funds. ❤️

From everyone at foundation we can’t thank everyone enough for your support and generosity and the money you have raised will go towards our are vending machine in the Royal Marsden and a year’s worth of snacks!

This means so many families will be supported over the year and not have to worry about healthy nutritious food whilst in the hospital. 👏

This is Dylan’s story, and this is why his legacy exists today. His charity has grown so much this last year. So many families are going through what we went through, stretched, overwhelmed, utterly exhausted and just wanting to do the best for their children in the face of truly unthinkable circumstances. Knowing we can positively impact their lives and make some small difference in Dylan’s name means so much. SUPERHERO DAN! 🦸‍♂️🪂❤️

Today, Dan from DH Tree Services literally JUMPED OUT OF A PLANE to raise money for The Dylan Strong Foundation!!

And he’s managed to raise an incredible £2,000+. 🥹❤️

To put that into perspective, that amount of money could help us support two families for an entire year.

That’s why these challenges mean so much to us. Every time someone decides to run, walk, jump, climb, cycle or do something completely bonkers for DSF, they’re helping us continue supporting families when they need it most.

Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day and sets you up for the day! 💪

We like to make sure that not only do the children have a hot breakfast option but also the parents. Being on the go and going back and forth from hospitals you forget about yourself. Simple changes such as switching your porridge to Bio & Me helps you add plants and seeds to your, which can help improve your gut health keep you fuelled for longer. 😀

What a journey this has been for us as a charity 🥹❤️🫶 Opening up an opportunity for businesses and individuals to sponsor a family direct has been so significant and the response overwhelming . @logodycreative @dh_treeservices_ltd @happybeautifulhealth @trust_building_services @activegroupscaffolding @dandmcoachworks @rlr_roofing @gcsservicesltd @mersthamglassltd and @kentfencinglandscaping are all sponsoring a family as we support their child and them through cancer for an entire year.

The power a donation like this has is huge, and knowing we can take a family on a full year is a commitment we are so grateful to be able to give. And it’s thanks to incredible people like you. ‘Nothing’ is not an option. As parents we live our children’s lives as buffers from the world, and in the face of a terminal diagnosis the word ‘nothing’ is simply not an option. One thing I knew, as Dylan’s mum, was that while he was still here and breathing I would do everything I could to make him feel ok. To feel strong, and able to face the road ahead of him. My expertise was nutrition and I knew the role good food could play in keeping Dylan feeling as bright as possible and as well as possible. Sometimes what he wanted flapjack and a cuddle, and that was always absolutely ok. There is no shaming food and no foods that were good or bad. If he ate I was happy. But where possible, and where he felt empowered to, I wanted to give him all the strength I could to help him feel strong, and in the face of his prognosis he thrived for some time. He played football, and laughed with family and friends. He regained ‘quality of life’ and that is so much more than ‘nothing can be done’. And that is his legacy. My beautiful brave, vibrant and cheeky boy. Helping others feel vital too. You are so missed and loved Dylan. We will never forget the light you brought to this world, and the vitality you held right until the end. You were a superhero and now you help others feel the same ❤️✨🫶🙏 Love you my beautiful boy.
