Needle valve stuck on my TW200, so the carburator filled with fuel! Thankfully the intake valve was closed, so fuel flooded into the airbox instead of the cylinder head! From the airbox, fuel ran down the crankcase breather hose and filled the crankcase with about a gallon of gasoline!! Yikes! The breather tube is where the gasoline is coming from in this video being pushed back into the airbox by the pressure of the motor. Thankfully, I was able to rinse out the motor a few times with old motor oil I had laying around and I did for real for real fill it with some brand new Valvoline motorcycle oil formulated for a wet-clutch! I promise! Anyway, it seems to be running better than ever and I'm incredibly grateful that no real damage was done. Except my air filter, that was pretty much destroyed by gasoline, so I've a new upgraded air filter from Uni on the way! The Cecil hotel was home to murderers and at least one serial killer (Richard Ramirez). As recently as 2013, Canadian traveler, Elisa Lam was found dead in a water tank under mysterious circumstances. The water tank provided drinking water for the hotel residents. The whole vibe around this place was creepy and the words of the homeless man did nothing to assuage that creepiness. Ngl, I was hoping it was open so I could spend the night there, but it’s been closed since 2017 after being open briefly under the moniker, “Stay on Main,” as it is situated on Main St. in Downtown Los Angeles. If you’re in LA, I highly recommend checking it out while your in #dtla and while you’re there why not get sushi from the famous @kazunorisushi !!! So good. #losangeles #travel #cecilhotel #california @losangelestouristguide by @eamonn.overland

Naples Canals Sea Turtle. Long Beach, CA. The Naples Canals ars a ring of canals that surround a small, affluent, residential island in the Alamitos Bay in Long Beach, CA. It probably goes without saying, it's not a place see turtles are often found. Nonetheless this sea turtle has taken up residence there and can be viewed daily. I went for 3 days in a row to film, and saw found her every day without problem. The Naples Island residents will point in the direction if you're having trouble, so don't hesitate to ask them! They call her Rhonda and she is beloved by the residents in the area. If you want to go, I'd suggest getting there around 9 a.m. or after 6pm, but I had no problem finding her around noon, though she does seem to disappear around 3 until about 6. If you don't have a kayak or stand-up board to paddle through the canals, you can always rent one from @suplongbeachkayaks right there on the bay!

As we all know, Southern California is known for it's terrible coastal views and scenery. I visted North Beach today in San Clemente and was, as usual, not at all surprised to see yet another awful view of towering waves crashing into rocks under and overcast sky that would have inspired the Lovecraftian mind to non-euclidean horrors and eldritch invocations.
I know there's a lot of hate for California right now, and I'm just here to say that everyone is right. This is the kind of awful uninspiring view you'll find on normal Saturday here. Or any other day of the week for that matter.

Took Kitsie on his first little kitten hike today! He did really well! A lot better than I thought he would! I thought I'd have to carry him the whole time. Which I did carry him a lot, but he was also able to walk quite a bit! We went to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands and it was absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend! #orangecounty #socal #adventurekitty taken in Bolsa Chica Wetlands Wildlife Reserve by @eamonn.overland

I don't usually share personal stuff on this account, but I figured the alcoholic/drug addict/motorcycle enthusiast ven diagram is almost a circle, so maybe this part would be helpful to someone.
Today I celebrate 7 whole years clean and sober.

It’s interesting to meet people who say they can’t imagine it being so bad for me that I needed to stop drinking. It’s nice to be seen that way, considering just how bad it had gotten. The friends who wouldn’t talk to me anymore, the overdose in another friend’s bathroom, the downfall of a man previously much loved by his peers, “don’t invite Eamonn,” I’m sure was muttered more than once, and the aggravated robbery of a Dollar General to get money for heroin that led to 10 months in jail and a last chance at sobriety as a free man.

I went to a meeting last night for the first time in a couple of months. I had an absolute awful day yesterday. One thing after another gone wrong, botched job interview, problems with the woodshop owner, then a flat tire to top it all. And I just thought, what the fuck am I even doing?? I felt this crushing weight and remembered that the only way I get to keep what I have is if I give it away. So I went to a meeting and talked with some other alcoholics. I did not want to go, told the meeting when it was my turn to talk that, “I didn’t want to go to this fucking meeting, but in my heart I knew it was a good idea.” So I went and I left afterwards feeling much lighter.
I was reminded at that meeting, one day before celebrating 7 years of continuous sobriety, that for a junky drunk like me, being clean and sober is a profound victory in and of itself. As time builds upon time, it gets easier and easier to forget that fact. But it’s true.
I share a bit of my past to say, if you’re in a position where you think you’re getting fucked up too much and you can’t stop once you start and can’t stay stopped once you do stop, there is hope and there is a solution. It gets better. I’m happy to talk with you about what worked for me or reach out to another friend who has found sobriety in a way that works for them and find out what works for you, if getting fucked up isn’t working, that is. 💖🖖🎡 taken in Long Beach, California by @eamonn.overland

Love the Long Beach Airport. Short lines and the best vibes. Though the vibes were a little off today ngl. But the outdoor chill spots are so unique and fitting for this city and there are even a couple of solid restaurants. And I just love walking out onto the tarmac to get on the plan instead of going through that boarding tunnel, whatever it's called, at larger airports. And it's all Southwest airline, which is by far my favorite airline. RIP free checked bags though. (Starting May 28)
I went through TSA without a REAL-ID. There was no trouble at all, not even any additional screen even though all I had was a State ID. I did bring with my Social Security Card and birth certificate lol just in case there was trouble. They gave me a little flyer that said, "The ID you presented is NOT REAL-ID compliant," and told me to be sure and update my ID. Which I have every intention of doing, for the record. We'll see if things are different at Chicago O'Hare (ORD) on the flight back to LGB since it's an astrnomically larger airport. As my grandma used to say, "Fingers crossed!"

The black-crowned night heron has a name that perfectly fits its aura. This beauty seemed like it wanted some company, and I think we all know what it feels like to be in need of interaction. Apparently they are frequent visitors to the Pacific Ocean piers of Long Beach, California, where this video was taken. Probably hoping to score a little snack from the many people fishing their, or maybe it was just a little lonely and wanted to hang for a bit. Either way, I'm glad I got a chance to see it and get close enough to shoot this little video!

I like to imagine that it just found out its partner was being unfaithful and feels partially to blame because it knows it wasn't as attentive and present as it should have been, so it flew out to the pier to clear its head and be around some other people who love fishing as much as it does. Something light, to get its mind off the dark thoughts that seem so ubiquitous these days.

This is Tuna and today she got to have her first day on the beach here in Long Beach, California! We didn't keep her out there too long, we're just hoping she gets comfortable at the beach so we can bring her here more often! Definitely will have something for her to hide under next time! Let us know if you have any tips for helping her get more comfortable on the beach.
