🩸IT’S BEEN 200 YEARS (OKAY, LESS THAN ONE) — Music 4 the People (M4P) is rising from the crypt on October 23rd at @boyfriendcoop 🩸

M4P has been dormant, dreaming, plotting it’s return, and it’s back, undead, in all of it’s glory! We’re trading the typical Halloween party for something with actual fangs, inspired by Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles.

Come early to make, reflect, and connect, at our FREE Community Mixer led by @survivalbloc exploring non-Western spiritual practices, ecology, and climate resilience and a conjuring of your own (zine-making, collaging, and more) before the sun goes down.

Stay for @kingesnce on the mic hosting the night, a costume contest for the brave (details to follow), an immersive Filipino folklore performance from @kaosarts that will absolutely get under your skin and a dance floor built for creatures of the night!

- Hosted 90+ grassroots-led workshops

DEADLINE EXTENDED: Applications for the 2026 Youth Land Labs are now open till 23rd June✨🌱

And ~ we heard you ~ and bumped the age eligibility to 18!!

🩸 SOME THINGS ARE WORTH BRINGING BACK FROM THE DEAD🩸

A little look back at the last time Music 4 the People came alive…

The artists. The dancers. The DJs. The creatures that crawled out after dark and kept the whole place moving.
Shoutout to @boyfriendcoop @kingesnce @archdukeredcat @yoniyachtclub and everyone who helped make the last M4P what it was 🖤

But this fall, we’re going deeper.

On October 23rd, we’re descending further into the world of vampires, nightcrawlers, and creatures of the night — inspired by Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles and the strange, beautiful things that come alive after dark.

🌱 WE'RE BUILDING A COMMUNITY DESIGN PROCESS IN QUEENS 🌱

Since 2025, our annual Earth Month Convergence has brought together 2,700+ Queens neighbors, families, artists, and organizations, turning strangers into a network that keeps growing long after the weekend ends.
Now we're taking that work further.

Through conversations and programming in Astoria and LIC, we've seen how the parks, gardens, and shared spaces around us carry histories of neglect and repair and are often cared for the residents who live around them and not the institutions meant to.

But today, current and incoming extreme weather and structural damage are threatening the East River, the neighborhood, and the green spaces alongside it, all over again.

So we’re bringing Long Island City and Astoria residents together to facilitate a community design process. This fall 2026 and spring 2027, we’re inviting residents and Indigenous stewards of this land to be part of the first phase, sharing their opinions on:

🌿 What community wellbeing means to you 

🌿 What you want our neighborhoods to look like in the years ahead 

🌿 Your relationship to this land — its stories, memories, and the skills you want to bring 

🌿 What real influence over gentrification, displacement, inaccessibility, food insecurity, and land neglect would actually look like

These insights will directly shape a community design plan built from the shared histories and futures of residents, artists, organizers, and educators across LIC, Astoria, and beyond.

A very happy Labor Day from all of us at @earth.convergence! 🌍✊🏾

Labor Day is the only holiday in the world created directly through the tireless efforts of the proletariat and the working class.

It is a day of revolutionary rest and a day to disrupt the exploitation-as-usual model of the capitalist world in which we exist 🌀

It is important to remember that the demand for Labor Day was built from the activism of immigrants who established their own labor organizations, Black activists frustrated by the collapse of Reconstruction, and women activists engaged in the fight for suffrage. This is a reminder that the fight for the liberation of the worker is ongoing, intersectional and transnational.

Workers of the world are still fighting the tyranny of the ruling class. Whether its sex workers in Europe keep pushing decriminalization forward, farmers in India still protesting unjust laws after farm laws were repealed and promises on new Labour codes remain broken, Korean Metal Workers union striking against being replacedhumanoid robots and automation at Hyundai, or Amazon workers organizing against inhumane conditions worldwide.

The tactics of the ruling class continue to evolve, now involving algorithmic management and automation, to oppress workers across the word but so does our solidarity.

Let this Labour Day be a reminder that we must continue our fight for liberation and stand in solidarity with movements across the world! ✊🏾❤️

None of this looks like much on its own.

A seed. A story. Someone showing up, week after week, long after anyone’s watching.

But this is how a movement actually gets built. Not all at once, but slowly, on purpose, together ✊🏾

We repair land that’s been forgotten so it can nourish us again. We save seeds so the next season doesn’t depend on anyone else’s permission. We sit with our elders and listen to their stories because we know how powerful their wisdom is, and that knowledge systems exist beyond institutions🌀💗

This is what community infrastructure actually looks like when you build it with your hands and what @earth.convergence is working towards every single day.
