This is a my favorite photo from my first proper visit to an ancient protected monument.

To others, it may seem inconsequential in the grand scheme of affairs.

As someone who loves art, in all forms, being able to see the massive temple with its intricate carvings was soul stirring. I felt connected in a different way to the artisans that used their skills to create such a beautiful structure.

And these two elephants, with their trunks intertwined, catching each other’s foot, captured my heart.

Going back to scheduled programming after a few patriotic weeks, feels heavy.

Did you hear about the girl with buttons?

A girl recently posted that she would be collecting a button for each day of the year.
Someone asked her what the buttons would signify? Did they mean something?

She responded that her collecting buttons didn't have to mean something to anyone else, as long as it made her happy.

I felt that to be so true. Its possible, many of us (myself included) may not understand what I post, but not everything always has to make sense to everyone. Sometimes, you've just got to be supportive if the other person found happiness in it.

1. Asafoetida in the air. I found this advert for asafoetida (HING MASALA) comically ridiculous because the company's called Aeroplane, and the advert was on a heavy bench made out of cement.

2. A dead green beetle. I tried to Google Lens it but it has way too many spots. I loved that they looked like the white splotches I make while painting.

3. The Pink Shikhara.

4. Road used by Goats. Herds of goats passed by this road but I was never present at the right time.

5. God in golden chambers.

6. and 7. Massive carvings on the floor. I'd never seen carvings like that on the floor of a temple before.

8. Baby photo wall. Parents that prayed for a baby at this temple, will bring a framed photo of their newborn to confirm that they did in fact receive their blessing. You'll find this across many obscure shrines/temples. by @earth2dhr

Snaps from a getaway. Where I live, there aren't many stylish places to visit. People go to nearby religious locations like temples or shrines for a day out.

I try to capture the things that no one looks at.

1. This pretty wall painting that was peeling off.

2. The Goddesses' guard. Outside a temple door you'll usually see these guard statues painted on both sides. He looks kind.

3. Lock upp contestant - I was fascinated to see a deity locked up this way. I wonder why?

4. Sleeping beauty

5. Limbs for sale - In front of these religious sites, you can find wooden limbs or bodies for sale. Devotees that suffer from diseases related to any of these body parts offer these articles to God with a pledge that if they are cured they will return to the site.

6. A horse with charming eyes.

7. A Neem tree that I climbed upon.

8. I like taking a photo of vehicles I've traveled in. I hope the bus doesn't feel that no one has ever taken its photo fondly. by @earth2dhr

Everything that goes unnoticed, stands out to me.

1. Sunlight on sunshine.
2. A placard in the wild.
3. At rest (not really).
4. Primate doing yoga.
5. An abandoned play school.
6. An (abandoned?) child who is supposed to go to play school.
7. A small bat on a shutter.
8. At rest (not really). by @earth2dhr

Terrifying takes in a tiered town.

1) Whose doll is this?
2) & 3) You’d think I’d positioned these two shoes but no, took a photo just as they were.
4) Finding god in a mortar joint.
5) Boss man scaring the street people. by @earth2dhr

A wacky set of photos yet again.

I try to bring some reality on to a platform that seems like utopia.

1. Phytonutrients
2. Celebrant’s money used
3. Place of worship behind
4. Futures await

I think I feel closer to pink because it’s a soft color. Pink feels calm and easy. Here’s a rose that I’d found accidentally in a village and clicked it!

What a book!

Now this is the book that you’d like to take on a vacation. I felt like I was striding through my dreams.

It’s a light hearted take on life through walks. If you’re an introvert, and someone who takes note of the minutiae, you will definitely love this!

The author embeds topics that are not spoken of, and also cleverly diverts your attention to significant issues women face in India.

And truly if I were ever courageous enough to write, I’d only hope for it to be as subtly entertaining as this. by @earth2dhr

Met a sweet old lady a week ago. She is originally from Kutch and invited all of us to her home.

Her name was Nathi-ma and she told me to remember her name. If i forgot, I should just remember the 'Nath' (a nose pin) is what she told me.

She was so happy when I took this photo! by @earth2dhr
