Our grant partner, @earthmatterny (EMNY), closed out Climate Week with a beautiful Lavender Soirée at its Lavender Field on Governors Island.

A beautiful evening of lavender harvesting, sachet-making, and celebrating EMNY’s “black gold.” It was the perfect sunset-filled finale with our own Gary Levine in attendance!

🌿Introducing our CLEAN STREAMING August series, where you'll get hands-on learning about the basics about our projects and composting activities! Sign up on our calendar at the link in bio 💫

Join us on Friday for our compost build - and stay for an expanded look into the initiatives and practices we support at Earth Matter 🪱 We will set up a recycling station at our new site, and go into the details of waste management on Governors Island!

First, we will be sorting organics generated on-island, including food scraps and compostable serviceware. Gain practical experience tracking food scraps, sorting out landfill items and recyclables from organics, and contributing to a community-scale composting system.

You may end your day with us here and take the 12:15 ferry off the island, or you may stay for an activity that highlights some of our work 💚
