This quick reset is called Lion’s breath.
It is so simple but powerful in helping you regulate your feelings of stress and frustration. And because you might look silly doing it, it can cause you to burst into laughter 🤭.

Like so many other things, science is just catching up to this importance of this age old practice in stress management and nervous system regulation.

“Mehn my back hurts, I’d like to try this someday”
Honey your back feels like an 80 year old when is someday?
Stop telling me your back hurts and do something about it.
Your body is constantly whispering to you but youre too busy to listen.
We wait till there’s an extreme impact when a lot of musculoskeletal issues are preventable.

Stretching consistently heals your body but it’s not doing it just one hour a couple weeks or so.

So I’m posting simple movements until you stop feeling like an 80-year old in your 20s/30s

Improve your posture and relieve pain with these very simple movements.

It takes just 5-10 minutes out of your day, so you don’t have the excuse of being busy.

My name is Jevwe and I want you to live with EASE in your mind and body🤎

One random day you bent to pick something off the that’s when it struck you!
The pain surged down your back to your feet.
It felt sharp, electric-like. You just can’t place it but it’s the most intense pain you’ve ever experienced.

You didn’t know whether to scream or cry so you gentle found your way to the floor hoping it would pass.
“That was so sudden! Where did it come from?” You think.

Only it’s been there all along. Gently warning you. Gently nudging but it was so quiet you didn’t hear it or feel it until it screamed at you.

Repeated strain doesn’t seem like anything until the compiled effect. The wrong bending to pick up a heavy object or a toddler.
Bending over to breastfeed or sitting at your work desk for hours.

We don’t think much about what we do daily until a sharp pain.
So what do you need to do?

Bulletproof your body!
Strengthen, stretch, bring ease and relief to areas holding tension. You can do this in just 5-10 minutes daily.
Don’t wait till your body forces you to take a break.

I’m don’t know which part gets me the most!
Dragging her mat around with me, lifting the little right leg🤭 or telling me she’s strong and courageous 😅

I dare you to stop a surgery that will save your life because you found out 5 minutes to the operation that the surgeon is not a Christian.

Are there aspects of Yoga I don’t practice?
Absolutely! As with everything, apply discernment, wisdom and seek counsel.

If you’ve ever done several stretches at the gym that you didn’t know were yoga inspired, you might need to go for deliverance 🤭.

I’m a Movement Therapist.
I infuse many sciences in my work and that includes Yoga Therapy, which is a science of 5000 years that SCIENCE is just starting to catch up to.

-Don’t sit for long hours because of stress and pain…yoga has long been teaching that.

-Breathing aids anxiety, anger and stress management…yoga has long been teaching that.

-Gratitude practices for depression…yoga has long been teaching that.

-Open your tongue for anxiety…yoga has long been teaching that.

But because a scientist has come to announce it to you, it has become a wondrous concept. It is suddenly no longer demonic.

I teach movement as movement
Your breath as your breath.
Stillness as stillness
Attention as attention.
🙏🏾

You probably said it today.
Then that project ends.

Another deadline arrives.
Another important obligation.
I can’t get out of this one.
Another meeting.
Another crisis.

And suddenly you realise you haven’t actually rested in months.
But you only realise now because your body is screaming in pain, stress and you’re forced to take a break.
Everything has to be halted anyway.

This is why I don’t love the idea of recovery being something to EARN after productivity.

REST isn’t the reward for finishing everything.
It sustains the person who has to keep showing up.

I’m not saying you should meditate your way out of impossible workloads (or perhaps you should).

It means you can create a daily rhythm where pauses, movement, breaks and realistic recovery or rest aren’t treated as evidence of poor commitment.

It can be 10 minutes daily.
Not when you finally have 5 hours to yourself.

Your body is not made of rechargeable batteries.

It’s flesh, tissues, muscles, bones that need daily repair.
