“There is more to Architecture than pencil can express.” D., Queen of F’A’Arts @queenoffaarts

Melbourne-based architect Sean Godsell, founder of Sean Godsell Architects, once said “building is a physical act, architecture is a spiritual one” and we asked him about that. In his opinion, architecture has the power to elevate the human experience. It shapes not just spaces but also the soul and transcends mere physicality.

Le Corbusier, as Sean mentioned, had put it beautifully: “You employ stone, wood and concrete, and with these materials you build houses and palaces. That is construction. Ingenuity is at work. But suddenly you touch my heart, you do me good, I am happy and I say: This is beautiful. That is Architecture. Art enters in.”

It’s easy to say but not easy to do!

“Who Was I.M. Pei?
I. M. Pei began studying architecture in the United States in 1935 and eventually earned his B.A. from MIT and his M.A. from Harvard. After starting his own architectural firm in 1955, Pei went on to design such well-known structures as the Kennedy library, a wing of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the glass pyramid at the Louvre, the Museum of Islamic Art and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Pei left his mark with innovative structures around the world — elegant geometries of stone, concrete, glass and steel that earned him countless architecture honors throughout his long and storied career.“ SOURCE: https://www.biography.com/artist/im-pei

Finally, a fun and uplifting event for Architects to relax and escape from the burdens and frustrations experienced in everyday practice.
The maiden edition of this event was a huge success in April of 2023 with Architects from different levels bonding and chilling. Consequently, the event will be recurrent: happening on the last Saturday, once in two months.
Hosted by an Architecture enthusiast passionate about enhancing the living experience for Architects because Architects need a balance in life & Architecture doesn’t have to be a “torture”.
Be kind, and extend the invitation to your colleagues.
