First wave DoKAD, Jax Leigh (Jacque Fitzgerald) @echoonda released Echo Onda’s sophomore album ‘Lightkeeper’ in August 2025. Her songs tell the story of healing, belonging, liminal identity, and the complexity of navigating life as a descendant adoptee diaspora. Jacque Fitzgerald wrote, performed, and co-produced the album in collaboration with a community of musicians in Portland, Oregon.

Before connecting with our emerging DoKAD community, Jax used music to express a lived experience that can be difficult to put into words. ‘lightkeeper’ by Echo Onda @echoonda is in our archive, with lyrics and listening links on all streaming music platforms.

Track list: Between, Lotus, Liminal, Dream ensues, New kid, Belong, Phase, Locate paradise, Sleepwalker, Lighthouse

‘lightkeeper’ turns 1-year-old this weekend. still so damn proud of this project and what it helped to teach, open, and heal in me. still so grateful for who and what it’s connected me to.

celebrating a little light in the dark. doing my best to never forget to do that.

thanks for listening.

my song ‘liminal’ turns 1 tomorrow. i’m celebrating by sharing the music video my friends @celinafloresphoto and @jenperrr and i made together last summer. we hope you enjoy. 🎈

so much gratitude to my co-creators, cast, and crew for materializing this vision with me. and even more gratitude for the joyful process of making it. it was really good fun. it was play!

yes, it is a dark time in human history. and yet i look around and see so many shining lights from kin and community. even on the heaviest days, you’re shining. keep shining, everyone. shine on and shine with one another. WE keep our lights lit.

aaaand… music pursuit complete. ;) y’all it’s just sprinkles on the sundae with echo onda at this point. and it’s been a fk-ing week, hasn’t it, so sprinkles feel especially sweet.

thank you so much to everyone who came out last night to share an evening with us. i am so grateful for the people in our lives and the kind of presence, support, and care we offer one another. it means everything.

it was so lovely to share a night with the/my Young brothers and @withchildband. thanks for such a great night of live music, you guys! and congrats on the album release and tour. that’s good heart medicine coming for the PNW. 🤍

Chris @myvinylunderground and Katie from @bookswpictures were welcoming, caring hosts. this spot is your new favorite comic book and record shop in Portland. book store vibe and album curation genius here are rad. thanks for creating such a great space!

i’ll be resting for the next while, but who knows what’s around the bend. i certainly never do… 🌀

all gratitude, protection, and love to you.

it was a sweet night @thesnugpdx performing with the endlessly talented, @ritchiewhy. thanks for creating an evening with me, my friend! and thanks for your drumming @trinitythehuman. 🤍

i love The Snug! i’d never been there. it’s tucked into a neighborhood nook with thoughtful support for the bands they host that reminds me of old Portland meets hometown Eugene.

i learned some beautiful things about what’s possible after singing to a room of strangers and a space made with love. also, i met Tulip. 🐕

next shows:
10/4 solo, Silverton — check flier
10/10 @myvinylunderground w/ @withchildband + the Young boys

some golden light sparkle scenes from friday. ✨

thank you to everyone who created the evening with us in person or in spirit. what a beautiful and sweet send off it was. ‘lightkeeper’ is released!

and thank you to @matei.ig for this unexpected gift! 🎞️🎥

when the world seems impossibly dark and the waves of descent keep coming, we’re still here co-creating, telling stories, gathering, gifting, and loving harder.

we save us.
