The quiet art of coffee roasting ☕️

You know that first deep-inhale moment when you open a fresh bag of coffee? It’s basically the last step in a much longer story.

Five days a week, our roastery team is in the back of the cafe doing the unglamorous stuff, like sorting green beans, dialing in roast profiles, packaging, and cycling everything by roast date.

Aside from this post, it’s not photogenic work. Most days it’s just Stephanie and a notebook, roasting and tasting the same coffee over and over until it’s exactly right.

It’s a lot of quiet, repetitive work for a few seconds of “wow, this is good.” But that’s the point of the whole job. The most important part isn’t always the boldest.

Pictured: our head roaster Stephanie, deep in focus, cappuccino in hand (of course).

The part of a latte that most people never see....☕

The craft behind specialty coffee starts long before your barista picks up the milk jug. From roasting the beans to the final drop of espresso that lands in your cup, here’s a step by step look at how we make a latte from start to finish, using our Vintage Blend ✨

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves…pastry style 🥐

If you frequent the café often you’ll notice we do our best to keep these three croissants on rotation. But…there’s a reason they sell out so fast.

Anyway, meet our three café favorites, always fresh from @butterblockyyc ✨

We’re sorry there are too many coffees to choose from. But we’re not sorry that the Finca San Isidro just dropped as our new coffee for Autumn.

Available in the cafe and online ☕️
