I left the beat making game years back… but maybe I’ll give it another shot. Just got this MPC just to see if it ignites the passion for creating music again. taken in Houston, Texas by @ecmartinezbeats

Well… guess what’s in the oven 😬 😬 😬

“Let it be Golden,” the next single off of my upcoming release, “Tides,” is headed ur way this April. As in like, next month… someday I’ll tell the story of the sunflower. Today is not that day…

HOWEVER, today IS the day we reveal the artwork to the song. This one is super special to me. I was in need of resolution… or at least… of light… so I wrote my way there… it was a turning point for the record and a safe place to land. Expression is essential for survival… but to linger in the dark, well, that’s another business… where “N 36th St,” felt like a divide… two worlds… and a complete, dirty, city rain as reflected in a rainbow oil spill splashed off the asphalt by an 18 wheeler’s dusty tires… “let it be golden,” took us to the moon.

@killamaus and I let the song lead the way and it was a complete blast off… it led, we followed… no preconceptions of where it should go, simply at the mercy of sound. Jesse continuing to take me out of my comfort zone and make things just the right touch of weird. Ft some guitar work from @drewhallguitarplayer, this tune is one of my favorites and it is responsible for catalyzing a shift that gave meaning to all the shadows. @ecmartinezbeats continues to create the world I envisioned for this album somehow pulling these visions straight from my brain… cuz this, yea, this is that corner in the sand I was sinking from before the sunlight came… I’m not sure what world it is… but I imagine it’s one that Vonnegut talked about… can’t wait for u guys to hear it. Release date coming soon. Keep an eye out, and in the meantime, click the link in my bio to listen to “n 36th st,” to get ready for “Let it be Golden.” Leave some 🌻 🌻 🌻 if ur ready :) by @ecmartinezbeats

Well. No better time than a Friday afternoon right before a Taurus full moon (so I’m told) to reveal the cover for my next album! @killamaus and I have been working hard on this project for the last few months and are really excited to share this sound that we’ve curated from like, feelings and a little bit of magical mystery moon dust. He was one of the first people I ever recorded with like what, 12 years ago and is always pulling me right out of my comfort zone to try something new and grow my artistry just a little more every time. I’ve always loved his ear… that’s not a plug for the fight tonight. That’s weird. Anyway. It’s just the weirdness that’s right up his alley!

It’s been a hell of a year. And I haven’t released a single song in 2024 thus far. Perhaps we can change that with a single before the year ends? We’re doin this all independent so all the follows, shares, all that jazz on streaming platforms will help get the momentum going for this thing! It’s some of my best stuff yet. I can’t wait to share it with you.

TIDES - Rachael Plays Guitar
A special double album coming to you 2025.

Artwork as always by @ecmartinezbeats who always manages to take my ideas to the moon and back and has created such a unique world for my sounds to land in.

Thanks for comin along for the ride. by @ecmartinezbeats
