The world kept moving. The ideas shifted. I felt… a little left behind for a while. I had momentum. I had hope. I was optimistic. But I was forced to pause. “To the ocean,” was released in 2019. Things had to happen the way they did. I’m nowhere near the person I was then. But I love that person all the same. She took chances. She played the goddamn cards. She laid the groundwork for this me. I know I can run for miles because I remember when I couldn’t walk more than 10 steps. How ironic the thing that gives life was taking mine away. Reimagining the art on my skin is a way of not abandoning ship. And not reliving the past. It’s always a part of me. I’m not stuck there. And there will never be anyone to leave what I have now to. How painfully present I am all the time. It’s a gift. I’m aware. Very aware. All of the time. Getting tattoos is a lot like running. It hurts now. But it won’t always. Sometimes it’s just the shading of mile 4. Give ur legs a chance to redeem themselves. And bam. What a pretty little picture. Thanks for the art @jaredboothtattoos 🙏 🙏

We really have a terrible time making tunes. “Last Call for Cake.” It’s in the oven. And it’s weird. I can promise you that much.

It only hurt just a lil. Give casual Tuesday by Rachael plays guitar a spin sometime this weekend. I forget how good this song made me feel when I wrote it.
