The School of Nursing hosted its third annual Summer Nursing Academy for rising high school juniors and seniors last month. 24 students spent a week living on Emmanuel’s campus gaining critical nursing knowledge and skills. From Stop the Bleed and CPR certifications to hospital tours and panels with various nursing professionals, the week-long program allows students to experience the nursing student life in the heart of Boston! #NursingStudent #SummerAcademy #HeartofBoston taken in Emmanuel College by @ecnursing

On Friday morning, Emmanuel College celebrated the Nursing Pinning Ceremony for our traditional undergraduate BSN students, a tradition recognizing their transition from nursing students to professional nurses.

Over the past four years, these students completed rigorous coursework, simulation labs and clinical experiences at hospitals and healthcare institutions across Boston. Through every challenge, they built the knowledge, confidence and compassion that define Emmanuel nurses.

Only two more sleeps until graduation is finally here!! Today we celebrate Tiffany Fischer! Tiffany completed her practicum at BIDMC in the MICU! “I am so incredibly grateful for my past four years at Emmanuel College, specifically in the nursing program. I have been so blessed with many different experiences, opportunities, and memories. I have had the privilege of furthering my skills and knowledge at the best hospitals in Boston. I want to thank all of my family and friends who have been there for me through every exam prep, every finals week, and every mental breakdown. I want to thank my professors for always encouraging, reassuring, and guiding me, and my classmates for being patient through all of my many questions during lectures. I want to thank Coach Andy for suggesting I apply to the nursing program. I want to thank my teammates and my church family for always being there to pick me up after a rough day. I’m so proud of my growth and I am so excited to see what the future holds for me. Congratulations to nursing major Daniel Posada Alvarez ’27, who was recently awarded the Clinical Assistant Nursing Scholarship from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Daniel began at Dana-Farber as a high school intern before growing into his current role as a clinical assistant while earning his nursing degree at Emmanuel. The scholarship supports clinical assistants at Dana-Farber as they pursue their BSN education and continue preparing for careers in nursing.

Since arriving at Emmanuel, Daniel has also gained clinical experience at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Medical Center.

Day four of our senior countdown to graduation! Today we celebrate Lex Sirica! Lex completed her practicum at Tufts on a behavioral health unit. “I am so grateful and proud of my time as a Nursing Student at Emmanuel College. Thank you to all the faculty and professors who work incredibly hard to make us feel supported; your knowledge and experience have certainly shaped my learning!
