"Vietnam (is not) 50" is an event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War hosted by the Honors Program on October 23rd.

“The Vietnam War is a forgotten war for many of our students today,” said Director of the Honors Program, Dr. Steve Benton. “We want to educate them about the war, but we’re calling it ‘Vietnam (is not): 50’ because we want to emphasize that Vietnam itself is not a war. It is a country with a long history and a rich culture.”

The event is free and open to the public!

2025 HNRS FIELD TRIP!!! 🐅🛣️

Our annual field trip was a blast!

First, we learned so much about Black Wall Street, the Tulsa Race Massacres, and more at the Greenwood Rising Museum in Tulsa. I think all of the Honorables would highly recommend visiting this museum!

Second, we made our way over to Mother Road Market, a suggestion from Honorable Camden Wilmes. It exceeded expectations! From tacos to sushi to burgers to ice cream, the Honorables had a fantastic meal to keep them going for the rest of the evening.

Third, we made a little pit-stop at the Gathering Place to walk off our dinner and get some fresh air! While it was a little warmer than we’d hoped, the experience was pleasant.

And lastly, we visited the @tulsapac to be at opening night of their production of Hairspray! Some of us struggled to not sing along in the audience, but we all had a great time at this performance!

Hopefully, you can see in the pictures how much we learned and how much fun we had on this year’s field trip! (Especially Dr. Wells) 🤣 by @ecu.honors
