In 2026 alone, 178 hit-and-run pedestrian collisions have occurred in South Bureau. These aren't accidents. These are drivers who hit people and drove away. ECWA NDC will discuss our Traffic Safety Initiative during the Committee Meeting tomorrow at 6:30 PM on Zoom. We're demanding speed camera equity, Vision Zero accountability, and crosswalk funding where it's needed most. All meetings are open to the public. Building bridges for a stronger Neighborhood 🚗🛣️✨ Members of the ECWA Board recently met for a direct, collaborative dialogue with Councilwoman Heather Hutt (@cd10heatherhutt). The meeting focused on key issues directly impacting the daily lives of residents in our district, including: 🚦 Transportation & Infrastructure: Enhancing street safety, public transit efficiency, and neighborhood mobility corridors. 🚗 Traffic Calming: Addressing residential traffic flow, speed mitigation, and pedestrian safety near local parks and schools. 🏡 Quality of Life: Advocating for cleaner, safer, and better-resourced neighborhoods across our entire community. Effective advocacy requires consistent engagement with City Hall. ECWA remains committed to ensuring our community’s priorities are front and center in citywide planning. What transportation or traffic issues are top of mind on your block? We showed up our Neighborhood! ECWA's In Person General Meeting brought our community face-to-face with the people protecting our neighborhoods — Senior Lead Officers and our newly introduced Captain of LAPD Southwest Division, Alisha Jordan. We were also honored by visits from representatives of Assemblymember Isaac Bryan, CM Heather Hutt, and CM Marqueece Harris-Dawson's offices — your neighborhood council is your direct line to those who serve you. We'd love to have seen more of you there — and there's always a next time. Your voice belongs at the table. Come to a meeting. Join the board. Get involved.
