My annual end of year blog is finally done, written, curated, culled, finished, and plonked firmly on my website homepage for all to see! 😮‍💨

It’s taken me bloody ages to make these two slideshows, so please do go and take a look at it. Pleeeeeease!🙏

These slideshows are always tough to put together. Choosing my favourites from over 20,000 images that were delivered to couples is no easy task.

Culling through all the images, all my hard work, all the effort I put in last year, and then seeing the final results in the form of a 4 minute slideshow definitely filled this chaotic and creative mind of mine with pride and satisfaction for yet another year… and a lot of that is down to the amazing couples that hire me and trust me to capture the story of your wedding day 🙌

We’re absolutely buzzing to have Ed Godden joining us at the NineDots Gathering.

Ed has been shooting weddings full time since 2012, but his photography career goes back much further than that - including 15 years working in press, sport and magazine photography before moving into weddings.

And after photographing more than 600 weddings, he still genuinely loves what he does.

Ed’s approach is rooted in honesty, experience and storytelling. He works primarily in a documentary way, letting the day unfold naturally, while still creating stylish portraits that feel completely true to the couple.

That mix of instinct, calmness and years spent working under pressure has shaped the way he photographs weddings - focusing on the real story rather than trying to manufacture one.
We’re really excited to hear more about his approach, his experience and everything he’s learned from a career spent documenting people and moments.

Instagram post number 10,000!

That’s an insane number right? Typical me though… I am a massive over-sharer 🤣🫣

The photo?… Mum and Dad, looking cool and trendy before they had me and my brother! I love this photo. It’s easily my most looked at photo on my phone. And I always love seeing it when I go to visit my Dad, and look at the framed print of it alongside all the other family photos he has hanging up in his house. And it’s always a constant reminder of how important photography is. Not just now, here in the present, but also in years to come, when we look at photos in the future.

I downloaded Instagram the week it came out. I reviewed it for a photography magazine at the time. And I seem to remember writing that I was hooked on it even back then at the very beginning! It’s seen a hell of a lot of changes, and the longer I’m on it, sadly the less engagement with the public I have on it. All totally my fault though! I’m not going to video myself, I’m not going to do endless BTS, life is too short for all that bullshit!

I am grateful of this platform. Very grateful! It has brought me a lot of work over the years… introduced me to a lot of lovely people and amazing photographers… at times it has inspired me to be more creative… but ultimately it has kept me connected with people that have been genuinely helpful and great to know, and also build some strong friendships I never would have without Instagram 🙌 by @edgodden
