Around this time 50 years ago the reviews for (I'm) Stranded (the single) started trickling in. The UK response was favourable but the Australian media was not so sure. Case in point being this 4BL Brisbane radio station interview with Chris from October 1976. "The sound it's absolute garbage" ... Listen to the end. Enjoy!

Friday October 2 is Bandcamp Friday. Is this the last Bandcamp Friday of 2026? That depends, there’s two more scheduled but as I’m sure you all know, tomorrow is never guaranteed. So while we’re planning for an impending apocalypse, why not go crazy and load up on 12XU’s 2026 releases and fantastic in-print items from the recent past. The Saints’ album Eternally Yours is one of the classic hidden gems of the punk canon. The band married the ever-melodic rush of @edkuepper wall-of-sound guitars and Chris Bailey’s fantastic sneering vocals with the fattest, baddest horn section and made it work. 50 years ago this week I picked up the Fatal pressing of (I’m) Stranded. A few days later we posted them around the world and in early September we received our first review via a French fanzine. A few weeks prior in 1976, both TheClash and the Damned had played their first shows and the Ramones played London for the first time. We were unaware of any of this.

In a couple of months time we will tour the UK as guests of the @thedamnedofficial celebrating that time and the sound we made. But there is more to come. The archive is runs deep and live is what it’s all about.
