🥇Over the moon to take the win by 16seconds at the Cheltenham CC event on Bushcombe Lane. One of the steepest hill climbs on the calendar in my book📍

I was particularly happy to see a new best ever power recorded from just under 3 minutes all the way to 3.5 minutes. Averaging just a few watts shy of the big 500. On a gradient as steep and slippery as this keeping the power on when my main focus was keeping upright proved difficult😂

A big shout to the volunteers that swept the road after a storm last night, the cheers and the photos! It all makes it worth it, anyone that gets up this climb is a legend.

🥇Delighted with my performance yesterday at Snake Pass in what is my final race before the British Hill Climb Championships in 2 weeks time🙂

Pushed all the way to the line by an exceptionally deep competitive field with @ezra_bateman hot on my heels just a handful of seconds behind👏👏

Almost every week I’ve seen new PBs both in races and training, and it’s testament to the level I’m racing against that I’m required to pull the very best out of myself to be as competitive as I want to be.

Having take some time off hill climbing last year (to finally get married!🤣) I can say I’m definitely feeling more motivated and enjoying the process more than I have done in recent years. The support in the events, online and from other riders has made it another memorable one and all im hoping for now is a good 2 weeks before the nationals to give it my best shot, and round the road season out with a performance I can be proud of✌️

🏆Squeezed the win at Horseshoe pass, in North Wales, one of my absolute favourite climbs on the calendar!

A breakthrough performance, 17w more than my next best effort for this duration over the last few hill climbs. Here’s hoping that things keep trending upwards for the next 3 weeks and I’ve got my peak timings right😅

Some gorgeous climbs and roads in the Andalusia region. Just some of my favourites from some long days in the chair🇪🇸☀️

16.4km @ 7.2% - Haza de Lino por Polopos

(Average grade is cooked, there were 1km sections averaging 12%😅)

7.5km @ 6.9% - climb to Cáñar

(Directly at the foot of the Sierra’s and a proper nice water fountain at the village)

The Goats Path➡️

13.3km @ 5.5% - The Goats Path

(Technically climbs from sea level for much further than we did, so more like 25km+ at 5% for the full shebang😵the road is draggy at the top)

12.7km @ 6% - climb through Rubite

(We passed this climb/descent after submitting the Lino, it’s looked like a cracker from up here!) taken in Sierra Nevada by @edlaverack

Andalusia, take me back🇪🇸⛰️🤩

Exploring @cyclesierranevada’s local smooth roads, HC climbs and hardly any traffic. The location is right at the heart of authentic Spanish town life, and the surrounding area lends itself to riders that want to get some no faff solid riding in. It lived up to the hype that I was promised!

🥇🌝over the moon to clinch the win at the British Hill Climb Championship warm up event on Porlock Toll Road! The excitement is building for the big day on Oct 25th🥳 @mccycling laid on another fantastic event with 122 riders taking on the 6.5km climb from almost sea level to 400m⛰️

My 9th time racing up this alpine like climb, and around a minute off my course record in 2020 in a hurricane tailwind. Today we had a headwind so I was chuffed to come up that close to be honest, and power falling in line with my usual track record here.

For those entering the British HC in 5 weeks, you are in for a treat! But don’t let the event put you off, get your entry in and have a go, set a time for yourself and get supporting your local events in October beforehand to gain some experience. It’s awesome fun, I promise🤩👀📣

Thanks for all the support in the hill climbs thus far, means a whole lot and it’s fantastic to hear from a few that have been inspired to start themselves! Having had a year out last year, getting married, I’ve been a lot more focused but relaxed come this hill climb season and with a few races still to go I’m excited to see what the future holds with far less pressure on myself to perform. 🥈2nd place on Sunday at the Nebo Road Hill Climb in picturesque North Wales🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿after taking the win on Thursday night in Rhayader🥇

After a good hour warm up and 1 quick look at the climb I’d be racing up, I covered the 5km climb in 11m11s, just 9s off the winner Andy Feather and sets the tone for what should be great few weeks of battling it out over the longer climbs in prep for the Nationals at Porlock on Oct 25th!

Underpaced the effort slightly, which is often the case in my first few hill climbs as I get used to riding the RED line and making sure I completely empty myself towards the top. But it’ll come, good signs so far. The bike is riding like an absolute dream with the current setup so no excuses there🤩also, love my new skinsuit too❤️
