Everesting World Championship 2026 🌋

Last year I was participating in the Everesting World Championship and I didn’t make the 16 hour cutoff.

I pushed myself to the absolute limit and came so close, which made it even harder to accept not finishing.

This year, the cutoff was extended to 19 hours, and I knew I had to come back and finish what I started.

Entering a race where all the other females are not only pro cyclists, but phenomenal riders, including World Champions, Olympic Champions and Guinness World Record holders, I knew this was a race with myself.

My coach had given me a pacing plan, according to our goal of making sure I finished the race, but I still wanted to push and do what I would see as a good performance. When actually, the most important thing with this race was to finish the unfinished business from last year, not do push a certain power..

Not following the plan almost made me DNF, again.

Sometimes you need to know when to risk it for the biscuit, and when to play it safe, trust the plan and just enjoy the ride.

Thank you to Everesting for hosting such an epic race, to all the amazing volunteers, and to Paul, who rode the last climb with me.

To my coach @edlaverack, I’m sorry I don’t always follow instructions, even though I know you know exactly what you’re doing 🫣😂

Thank you to @dome_squillacioti for helping with literally ALL of my logistics when my flight was changed and I arrived only a few hours before the race started. I would not have made it to the start without your help! And huge congrats on your incredible first Everesting. What a way to do it on Mount Etna!

And finally, thank you to my friends and my incredibly supportive boyfriend @volkervoit for believing in me and helping me get to the finish. ❤️
