Happy 30th to one of the best rock and roll albums of all time. I could wax lyrical about how this and Morning Glory are absolutely foundational albums for me. But if I start I'll never stop and I know everyone's probably seen and heard enough about Oasis at the moment.

The photo is from a small exhibition that happened in 2014 celebrating the band's early years where there was a full size recreation of the album artwork. Photo taken by @elsuri!

Been over a year since I posted on "the grid" so here's some Saturday afternoon vinyl enjoyment. Whitesnake at their absolute late 80s bombastic best with none other than Steve Vai amongst their ranks bringing his stupendous shred.

The table is my Technics SL1310 from the mid 70s which is my current main player. Bought it in May 2022 having been fully restored by an enthusiast. At the moment it's rocking an Audio Technica AT-VM95ML cartridge.

We went to Brighton for a long weekend last week. I didn't take many pictures nor were we able to do a great deal because my CFS has been turned up to 11 for the last few months, but it was lovely to get away and get some sea air. by @ednewmy

Funeral For A Friend. Brixton Electric. 04/03/22

Having been at the truly special last show of their farewell tour back in 2016, I naturally jumped at the chance to see them on this reunion tour, originally scheduled for 2020. Many postponements later and it finally happened tonight. by @ednewmy

PODCAST

Over the last 6 weeks or so I've been quietly researching and working away on a project to keep myself busy during this new vast expanse of free time I've found myself in.
Sixteen years ago I went on a trip around South America, keeping a diary as we went and thought it might be a fun project to turn this into a podcast. This has given me a creative and challenging project to work on throughout this time.
The podcast is called "Buenos Aires And Back Again" (yes it's a nod to The Hobbit) and the trailer is now up in all the places you'd expect to find it - Spotify, Apple podcasts, Google podcasts etc... I'd hugely appreciate you giving me a follow on any of these, and if you enjoy it in due course a rating and review. For those of you not on any of those services, I've stuck a link below direct to the hosting site. I am hoping to have episode 1 up a week today and subsequent episodes on Tuesdays following that, hopefully for about 8 weeks.

I've also set up an Instagram which is @buenosairesandbackagain - please do follow as I'll be posting photos from the trip to coincide with each episode.

Gracias!

Not many people know that this is the best Weezer album. Which is strange because it is.
