[Link to song in BIO] I work in London theatre & it’s starting to hit home that we are still a long way from them reopening their doors. Cameron Mackintosh says he thinks the ‘new normal’ for London theatre won’t commence until 2021... ⁣ ⁣ That’s realistic, I think, but it affects so many. The industry employs thousands of passionate & creative people who are all bereft work-wise. Performers, directors, designers, choreographers, casting directors, writers & producers, plus everyone behind the scenes who work so hard to make the magic happen. Marketers, ticketing folk (that’s me!), costume makers, stage crew... the list is endless.⁣ ⁣ And let’s not forget our fabulous audiences. Our ‘bums on seats’ who support the industry, buying tickets & enjoying performances night after night, week on week, year on year. They are bereft too. ⁣ ⁣ Working, furloughed, redundant. We all have something in common. We are waiting... waiting for what we love to start up again. ⁣ ⁣ I love this special rendition of We’ll Meet Again. It’s emotional to see the images of the iconic, beautiful theatres, whilst hearing the dulcet tones of the performers who have graced their stages. ⁣ ⁣ London theatre is a massive part my life. The current situation affects me, my friends & my family. I’m not ashamed to say I have cried writing this. ⁣ ⁣ But although it grave & uncertain, I remain optimistic. ⁣ ⁣ London theatre WILL return. The rapturous applause & standing ovation at the curtain call of the first performance back will be something to behold. ⁣ ⁣ We’ll Meet Again. ⁣ ⁣ At a theatre near you... ⁣ ⁣ someday... ⁣ ⁣ soon. ⁣ ⁣ Stay safe. Stay positive,⁣ ⁣ Katherine ❤️ xxx⁣ ⁣ ps This post focuses on London theatre because that’s where I work. But I am mindful that it applies to regional theatres too. And Broadway. And worldwide. We are one big theatre family. Sending love & hope to EVERYONE who has an appreciation for performing arts. ⁣ ⁣ Thanks to @ferrisandmilnesofficial who created this video (@dominicferrismusic @martinmilnes).⁣ @londontheatre #dameveralynn #londontheatre #westend #theatreland #theatre #performingarts #wellmeetagain #londontheatres #shaftesburyavenue #londonperformers

Probably more apt for my female friends on here - I have it on good authority that boys were probably more likely to have socks with days of the week on!⁣ ⁣ I woke up just now and could not remember for the life of me what day it is. It’s day 40 of my isolation...⁣ ⁣ So, now I’ve figured out that it’s Saturday, I’m looking forward to what I have planned. Several of my colleagues and I are meeting up via video call before lunch and I’m attending a virtual online theatre performance this afternoon. ⁣ ⁣ All that - and I still need to construct the guinea pig cage before the piggies arrival on Monday. Yes! I am expecting! Two boys! Only four and a half weeks old! And they will be coming to live with me and Squishy Duck and Red at the start of next week. They are absolutely gorgeous. I’ll share photos with you later...⁣ ⁣ Whatever day of the week you’re reading this, I hope you have a positive and productive one. Make it count!⁣ ⁣ Katherine ❤️ xxx ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #girlfriends #boyfriends #friends #socks #pants #knickers #underwear #Monday #Tuesday #Wednesday #Thursday #Friday #Saturday #Sunday #daysoftheweek #isolation #isolationwellness #videocall #zoom #theatreperformance #online #expecting #guineapigs #piggies #pairofpiggies #furbabies #SquishyDuck #RedPanda #positive #productive

Got my hair done. Barber was absolutely pumped that I listen to Converge and gave me a fist bump as I left.

Afternoon vibes showing @orton82 my new home. He even brought me an orchid (which I've been told is called Daniel) and some dark chocolate. To use one of his phrases "he's such a gem."

That proud moment when we shared the stage with our heroes @dillingerescapeplan & @poisonthewell back in 2006, I think - on the their Miss Machine UK tour 👊🤘
