One of the upcoming magazines from @beforesmag is all about the visual effects of @kanepixels’ film @backroomsmovie. The film, of course, has had phenomenal success at the box office, and is based on Parsons’ original YouTube Backrooms videos. befores & afters is going deep on the VFX of the film with visual effects supervisor @edwardjdouglas, several members of the crew, and with Parsons himself. “Backrooms is the little movie that could. With a miniscule budget of around $10M (an amount of money that, on a Marvel movie, would be allocated for purchasing the baby powder to get actors into their super suits), first-time director Kane Parsons was able to bring the labyrinthine yellow walls of his YouTube series of the same name to the big screen with the effectiveness of an old pro, grossing nearly $400M worldwide for studio A24.
