Went to see the @galerie_nordenhake 50 Years exhibition here in Stockholm. Absolutely stunning. Museum level. Or rather, many of the works displayed are of better quality than what can be found in Nordic museum collections. F e the first images of the exquisite Judd box. Just spent a wonderful day with my next door neighbour @dicklundgren and his 1961 Daimler GT (which have won more vintage car awards than possible…). We drove around the outskirts of Stockholm all day - almost 8 hours - and it was just wonderful. I also got around to drive the Daimler. Manual V8, no safety belts, no airbags, but overall a wonderful piece of machinery. So fun. What a great day! .#daimlergt #ferrari458italia #carday #greatfriends #supercars by @eerokoivisto

This post is dedicated to fellow architect and Tifosi @lionworks , who commented upon a story I posted the other day. It’s about the Stahl House - or Case Study House No.22 - in Los Angeles, by the architect Pierre Koenig 1960. An icon of American modernism, it more or less created the narrative for the ”modern house” as we know it. Just check the artworks at the end of this post if you doubt it.- My story started with, that we (Claesson Koivisto Rune) were asked to do a lecture and a small exhibition of our work in LA. When asked by the people organising if there was anything we wanted to see in LA, our only answer was: Case Study 22. It all worked out and we met the Stahl’s (who were still alive then) and it was just an amazing experience on a beautiful California day. We asked about Julius Shulman - who took the iconic photo - and Carlotta Stahl gave us his number and told us to visit him. The next day we spent three fantastic hours with him, while he was telling stories about his life in architectural photography with all the great legends of architecture. Before we left, Shulman asked us how we knew about him, and of course I mentioned THAT photograph, and told him it was one of the reasons for me becoming an architect. He when pulled out a drawer, pulled out (and signed) a copy, and gifted it to me! And I still love the postcard on his wall: ”Old Age & Treachery Will Overcome Youth & Skill”. 7 hours in Bergen yesterday. Short visit to do a final check on 20 new guestrooms at the Skostredet Hotel there, that’s supposed to open on July 1st. Some small tweaks here and there, but generally the atmosphere felt great! The blue glasses. Easily the most talked-about subject when meeting people lately. I regret that I didn’t realise that I should photograph everybody trying them on. So there’s another 30+ people who tried them on, but who I didn’t think of taking a pic of until later. The glasses - vintage @jeanpaulgaultier - started their life some 35 years ago as my everyday glasses (see last slides) which I kind of discarded on my way to become an architect. Fast forward, and I found them in a drawer recently and brought them to my optician @bagarglas here in Stockholm. I had this idea to fit 🔵🔵 blue glasses in them, which they did in record time, so that I could bring them to @3daysofdesign in Copenhagen last week. ”3DaysOfDesign” in Copenhagen was intense this year. Not only were we part of many exhibitions around the city, we also had a lot of meetings, a lecture, and were constantly late to the next appointment. But we also had great food, saw amazing things - and most importantly - met a lot of lovely old and new friends! Many of them who had traveled from far abroad to be part of the festival. For me personally it was almost like a mini-Milan with lots to see and very little time to do it. Still enjoying it immensely! Now back home in Stockholm after a 1800 km long 10-Day roadtrip to Denmark and back. The 458 Italia was just wonderful all the way, and maybe the best road car I’ve ever driven? Had an issue with a 5 cm (2 inch) plasterboard screw that got into my right side front wheel tire somewhere in Copenhagen, but the absolutely wonderful people at @formulaautomobile in Denmark did a swift shift to new front tires in record time, so that I didn’t miss my lunch with @a.a.danto back in Copenhagen. The tour went like this:1.) Stockholm-Växsjö (425 km) for dinner with @ingegerdraman and a nice stay at @pmhotel 2.) Växsjö-Helsingør (200 km) for the Nordic Ferrari Owners Meet 2026, well arranged by @lunddahl_studio 3.) Saturday drive (100 km) around Denmark with the other 160 (!!!) Ferrari’s attending the meet. 4.) Helsingør-Svanshall (50 km) to visit @hakandavidnilsson and Eva in their “Villa Svanshall” that we designed for them.5.) Svanshall-Copenhagen (135 km) with brought stuff for @3daysofdesign 6.) Copenhagen-Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and back (80 km) with old NYC friend Andrea Ruggiero.7.) Copenhagen- @formulaautomobile in Kongens Lyngby and back (30 km) for new front tires.8.) Copenhagen-Malmö (40 km) for @magnuswastberg ’s daughter Edith’s Student Reception.9.) Malmö-Bjäre (100 km) Co-driving with @marten_claesson to sleep over at ”M’s House”.10.) Bjäre-Hjo to sleep over at old friend Anders Englund’s @antedesign house.11.) Hjo-Stockholm (335 km) finally going back home.A lot of driving, but just great all the way. Met many old & new friends and had an absolute blast of a trip!
